Job Summary
New Product Introduction (NPI) Process Engineering provides management direction of all phases of in-house or outsourced manufacturing for a product (or product line) through the new product introduction phases. This role functions as the central resource with design, manufacturing, quality and test, ensuring products meet specifications and quality goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing manufacturing tools, assembly procedures, and new processes for device and PCBA, optimizing product yield and throughput, and acting as a liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing.
Must Have
- Provide management direction for NPI manufacturing phases.
- Function as central resource with design, manufacturing, quality, and test.
- Ensure products meet specifications and quality goals.
- Create requirements for production manufacturing tools and assembly procedures.
- Develop and implement tools/fixtures/jigs for device and PCB assembly.
- Develop and implement new processes for device and PCBA.
- Optimize overall manufacturing process, product yield, and throughput.
- Act as liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing for NPI.
- Monitor product yields and implement corrective actions.
- Bachelors (BS) degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing).
- 5+ years of engineering experience in mid to high volume manufacturing (device and SMT assembly).

- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of different products and fulfillment models.

- Flexibility in work hours and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Job Description
New Product Introduction (NPI) Process Engineering provides management direction of all phases of in-house or outsourced manufacturing for a product (or product line) through the new product introduction phases.
- Functions as the central resource with design, manufacturing, quality and test as the product(s) move from initiation to ship acceptance.
- Knowledge and experience with DFA and DFM techniques to help facilitate manufacturability of PCBAs and Assemblies. Generate DFA/DFM reports to improve manufacturability of new products and reduce process variations
- Ensures that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals.
- Responsible for creating requirements and specifications for production manufacturing tools and assembly procedures, either directly with development teams or by collaborating with product engineers/factories.
- Work with Fixturing vendors to develop and implement tools/fixtures/jigs to support Device and PCB assembly.
- Responsible for new process development and implementation for device and PCBA – work closely with Development Engineering and Manufacturing team on continuous improvement to develop and optimize overall manufacturing process including product yield and throughput aspects.
- Act as liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing with respect to new product launch efforts.
- Knowledge and experience with component engineering aspects as it relates to part specifications, validation through sample procurement and verification.
- Monitor Product Yields on a daily basis and work with appropriate engineers to take corrective actions when trends indicate equipment and/or process issues.

Basic Requirements
- Bachelors (BS) degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing)
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a mid to high volume manufacturing environment for both device and SMT assembly.
