Job Description

CSG is expanding its teams in Brazil to deliver new features for its cloud-based digital BSS Ascendon Platform. This Software Development Engineer Lead role involves designing, analyzing, coding, modifying, and supporting Ascendon product applications. The ideal candidate will build highly available, scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems, continuously improve areas through scripting and automation, and resolve complex engineering problems. They will also support the platform in customer-facing environments, mentor junior team members, and participate in recruitment activities.

Must Have:
  • Design, analyze, code, modify, and support CSG’s Ascendon product applications.
  • Build highly available, scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems.
  • Continuously improve assigned areas by applying scripting, automation, or application packaging.
  • Resolve complex engineering problems.
  • Support the platform in customer-facing environments, including troubleshooting issues and monitoring the system.
  • Be willing to learn from and coach those around you.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, or other forms of team quality procedures.
  • Be able to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Take part in recruitment activities.
  • Be able to Independently solve complex problems related to interconnected software components.
  • Work well within a team environment using Agile methods.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or technically related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development and software support/maintenance.
  • Experience in C#, .NET, SQL querying, schema design, Web Services, REST, xUnit, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Serverless microservice architecture exposure (e.g. Fargate/Lambda).
  • Experience with cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform preferred).
  • Relational and non-relational database experience (e.g. DynamoDB).
  • Experience integrating with external APIs.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD processes.
  • Proficiency with AI technologies and their application in software development.
  • Ability to support on-call rotation.
  • Ability to work in a CLT contract position.

What you‘ll do:

You will report to the Manager of Software Development and be responsible for designing, analyzing, coding, modifying, and supporting Ascendon product applications. You are well versed in adopting new technology and architecture, and like solving challenging problems and making your work environment enjoyable. You are someone who has demonstrated their ability to build scalable, maintainable, enterprise-grade products.

  • You will support the platform in customer-facing environments, including troubleshooting issues and monitoring the system

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or technically related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years of experience in software development and software support/maintenance
  • Experience in C#, .NET, SQL querying, schema design, Web Services, REST, xUnit, and ASP.NET Core
  • Serverless microservice architecture exposure (e.g. Fargate/Lambda)
