Software Engineer 2

PayPal seeks a Software Engineer 2 to develop high-volume, scalable back-end software solutions. This role involves optimizing performance for significant data volumes, constructing robust back-end services and RESTful APIs, and leveraging a powerful technology stack for development and deployment. The engineer will ensure accessibility, integrate new features based on feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Participation in Agile Scrum methodologies, creation of stateless libraries, and streamlining HTTP/REST-based microservices are key. The position also involves building event-sourced systems for data orchestration.

Must Have

• Develop high-volume, scalable software solutions for back-end systems.

• Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience.
• Experience designing and deploying relational database schemas and running complex queries against large scale databases (1 year).
• Experience with cloud technologies, Amazon Web Services, infrastructure as code (terraform), and AWS offerings (1 year).
• Experience writing production quality code Java and Python as well as experience with testing frameworks like Pytest.
• Experience designing backend applications using the Django framework.
• Experience deploying services using container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience building and deploying Docker images.
• Experience working in a team setting on a shared codebase using Git-based technologies like Github.
• Experience monitoring applications using DataDog.
• Experience designing and developing backend services for large scale applications.
• Experience testing backend APIs using tools such as Postman or Curl.
• Experience with Agile frameworks and practices for software development lifecycle.

Salary: $149,365.00-198,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
