Job Duties: Work on engineering initiatives within Search Ranking and Monetization team to enhance the search experience for customers. Collaborate with Applied Researchers, Analysts and Product Managers to A/B test and deploy new search algorithms based on Machine Learning for the Promoted Listings Ads program. Develop reliable data pipelines using Hadoop, Spark, SQL, and Airflow to collect data for scientific and research purposes while complying with data governance standards. Implement real-time monitoring of the Ads metrics using Tableau, Grafana, Kafka streams and generate alerts for detected anomalies. Implement Application Program Interfaces in eBay’s search engine, Cassini, to retrieve information about items and transactions in eBay platform. Enhance the ranking profiles to expand the Promoted Listings Advanced ads program through offline analysis using Spark, SQL, as well as online A/B testing and analyze the revenue impact. Work on various engineering initiatives for automation, maintenance, optimization of the data infrastructure and release operations for new code deployments. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
1. Experience with software development lifecycle, SCRUM, product development, testing, and delivery (3 years).
2. Experience managing data infrastructure, ensuring data governance standards, and addressing scalability and reliability challenges (2 years).
3. Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) of data from various sources into an analytics-ready or other formats (2 years).
4. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented design patterns in Java, implementing REST APIs for integrating software components (1 year).
5. Experience using MySQL for data analysis and present findings in visual dashboards (1 year).
6. Experience using Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce and Scala/Spark for big data processing (1 year).
7. Experience implementing visual dashboards using SQL to monitor key metrics, offer data insights, and generate alerts to detect data anomalies (1 year).
8. Experience with PubSub systems like Kafka to build real-time and streaming applications (1 year).
9. Experience conducting A/B testing and analyzing revenue impacts (1 year).
10. Experience in Python language and machine learning libraries like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Keras, and tools like Jupyter Notebook.
11. Experience with automation and job orchestration frameworks like Docker, Apache Airflow, and Jenkins.
12. Experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, and Statistics.
Salary: $158,735.00-222,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
