Join Autodesk's Digital Factory and Simulation team in Kraków as a Software Engineer. You will develop and enhance simulation solutions for Autodesk's Fusion platform, encompassing desktop, web clients, and supporting cloud services. The role involves designing, prototyping, and implementing solutions, primarily focusing on cloud services using Go and C++ applications in Docker containers deployed to AWS. You will contribute to a cross-functional agile team, producing clean, maintainable code, conducting unit tests, debugging, and participating in code reviews.
Must have:
  • Develop cloud services with Go and C++ in Docker on AWS.
  • Design and implement customer-valuable software solutions.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
  • Actively participate in code reviews.
  • Collaborate with teammates to effectively deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Conduct and contribute to technical discussions.
  • Communicate with English-speaking stakeholders.
  • Understand software architecture, design patterns, and OOP.
  • Possess 1+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Solid experience in C++ and/or Go.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.
Good to have:
  • Experience with GIT, CMake, Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines, Terraform, and Docker.
  • Experience in observability of cloud services.
  • Understanding of agile software development principles.
  • Experience integrating components of distributed systems.
  • Background in Math, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience developing on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Digital Factory and Simulation team in Kraków.

Our team delivers engineering simulation and related technologies in Autodesk's Fusion platform. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about building and enhancing our simulation solutions that encompass both desktop and web clients, as well as their supporting cloud services.

At large, we are developing C++ applications & components using the recent C++20 standard, but our tech stack is much wider, offering multiple ways to enrich your technical skills. Parts of our code base are currently using Qt, JavaScript/TypeScript (including Node.js), Go, Python, and more. Our infrastructure is built on Git, Jenkins, CMake, and Docker. Our choice of cloud is AWS, with solutions tailored for Autodesk exclusively. We are developing for all major platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. The variety of problems that we solve ranges from effective UI, efficient data models, multi-service architectures, and CPU/GPU efficiency. All of this is wrapped in a friendly atmosphere, full of experimenting and creative collaboration, with agile principles in mind.

The team works in a hybrid working model based from our Krakow office location.

Responsibilities

As part of Krakow Autodesk, you will collaborate with one of our scrum teams, usually together with 3 - 5 developers and 1 - 2 quality assurance engineers. You will be expected to work using your initiative to develop innovative solutions to meet our customers’ demands for software that is of the highest quality, faster, more powerful, and more productive:

  • The main area of work is related to cloud services based on Go and C++ applications/components executed in Docker containers that are deployed to the cloud using AWS and Jenkins Pipelines
  • Design, prototype, and implement solutions providing value to customers
  • Produce clean, effective, secure, maintainable, and well-documented source code
  • Unit tests, debug, and solve defects in implemented software solutions
  • Actively participate in code reviews
  • Collaborate with your teammates to effectively deliver high-quality solutions
  • Conduct and contribute to technical discussions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with English-speaking stakeholders
  • Understanding good software architecture practices, including design patterns and object-oriented software development
  • 1+ years of software engineering experience
  • Solid experience in C++ and/or Go programming language
  • Great teamwork attitude and good communication skills
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Bachelor’s (BS) or higher degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other engineering domain

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the following technologies is a plus:
  • GIT
  • CMake
  • C++/Go
  • Splunk
  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines, Terraform files, and Docker containerization
  • Experience in observability of cloud services
  • Understanding the principles of agile software development is a plus
  • Experience in integrating components of distributed systems is a plus
  • Experience or understanding of Math, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering is a plus
  • Experience with software development on multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, is a plus
