Software Engineer .NET

Amex GBT is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team and work on a dynamic suite of products that manage client travel data. The role involves designing, developing, and testing new applications and features, optimizing APIs for performance, and collaborating with engineers and designers in a SCRUM team. The ideal candidate will adapt to recent technologies and deliver positive outcomes for the company and clients.

Must Have

• Design, develop and test new applications and features
• Work in a SCRUM team
• Optimize APIs for maximum performance, reliability, and scalability
• Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
• Collaborate and work alongside fellow engineers, designers, and other partners
• Participate in the evolution and maintenance of existing systems
• Propose new functional and/or technical product improvements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related discipline
• Minimum of 5+ years experience as a senior .NET developer
• Extensive knowledge of .NET languages including C#, Visual Basic.NET, ASP.Net, .NetCore, React
• Proficient with front-end development languages and frameworks including JavaScript, HTML5, JQuery, Bootstrap and CSS
• Knowledge of SQL Server and associate data patterns
• Ability to track & manage project tasks and deliverables to successful closure
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and/or experience working in an Agile delivery environment

Good to Have

• ITIL or other service management frameworks
• Knowledge of travel industry and travel related technologies
• Knowledge of various software design patterns e.g. MVC, MVVM, thick client, thin client
• Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and methodologies (test automation experience preferable)
• Knowledge of cloud native applications and development practices (Azure preferable)
