As a Software Engineer – QA Automation, you will play a crucial role in the QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of our product and on the functionalities to support our highly successful Digital platform deliverables which are industry leading and highly trafficked portals in the student recruitment & higher education domains. You will be involved in resolving software Issues and have knowledge in designing and executing test cases through automation scripts for all functional areas of application. Developing automation scripts for MoveON application covering both positive and negative scenarios. This role requires deep technical expertise in automation frameworks, system design for testing, and vulnerability assessment to build reliable, scalable, and secure applications. This position offers a dynamic environment where you'll have to grow within a mission-driven company committed to empowering education through technology.
Must have:
  • Develop, test, and execute automation test plans.
  • Convert manual test cases to automation scripts.
  • Create, execute, improve, and optimize automation scripts.
  • Document script execution reports.
  • Report and track bugs during automation.
  • Perform API testing using POSTMAN.
  • Design and implement comprehensive automation test cases.
  • Write negative scenario automation scripts.
  • Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct regression testing.
  • Document testing processes, test cases, and results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Proven ability in testing and hands-on automation experience.
  • Experience in analyzing requirements and creating test plans.
  • Proficiency in building robust test frameworks.
  • Proficiency in UI automation and automated API testing tools.

As a Software Engineer- QA Automation, this is what you’ll be doing:

As a Software Engineer – QA Automation, you will play a crucial role in the QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of our product and on the functionalities to support our highly successful Digital platform deliverables which are industry leading and highly trafficked portals in the student recruitment & higher education domains. You will be involved in resolving software Issues and have knowledge in designing and executing test cases through automation scripts for all functional areas of application. Developing automation scripts for MoveON application covering both positive and negative scenarios. This role requires deep technical expertise in automation frameworks, system design for testing, and vulnerability assessment to build reliable, scalable, and secure applications. This position offers a dynamic environment where you'll have to grow within a mission-driven company committed to empowering education through technology.

Role responsibilities:

The key duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Develop, test, and execute detailed automation test plans to verify software functionality and performance.
  • Converting manual test cases into Automation test scripts and fixing the failed scripts due to change in web elements or synchronization issues.
  • Creation, execution, improving, maintaining and optimizing the automation script on module base.
  • Documentation of script execution report.
  • Bug reporting and tracking while automation execution.
  • API testing using POSTMAN.
  • Design and implement comprehensive automation test cases, covering various scenarios and use cases.
  • Write negative scenario automation scripts to identify and log defects, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
  • Conduct regression testing to validate that new changes do not adversely impact existing features.
  • Document testing processes, test cases, and results for reference and future use.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance testing methodologies.
  • Any other duties that fall within the purpose and scope of the role.

Key skills and experience:

The following skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications are required to perform the role:

  • Graduate or postgraduate in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or related), with proven ability in testing and hands-on experience in automation testing.
  • Experience in analysing the new requirements and creating Automation Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Estimation.
  • Good proficiency on Core Java, HTML, API testing (POSTMAN), Selenium with Java / Python, Jenkins, Groovy, CSS and SQL.
  • Well versed with using the open-source bug tracking tool JIRA and writing test cases in TestRail.
  • Proficiency in building robust test frameworks.
  • Proficiency in UI automation and automated API testing tools.
  • The following experience will be a plus point: Katalon automation, Git, VPAT testing, cross browser testing, security testing, Performance – JMeter Testing.
  • Good knowledge on Framework: TestNG, Maven, Hybrid framework.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other QAs, developers, and stakeholders.
