Must have:
  • Design and implement scalable backend services using Python in AWS.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using serverless technologies to enable secure and efficient data exchange.
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to migrate legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation for system architecture, interfaces, and workflows.
Good to have:
  • Experience with metadata-driven development and contract-first API design.
  • Knowledge of capital markets or listing operations.
  • Experience working in CI/CD pipeline automated development environments and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in other programming languages such as C#, Java
  • Experience developing websites.

Job Details

Role Overview:

As an Index Platform Developer, you will play a key role in transforming our platform from traditional on-premises monolithic based applications to a modern, cloud-native architecture. This includes building serverless Python-based applications, developing API-driven workloads, and deploying scalable solutions in AWS. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize Nasdaq’s core index services and deliver high-impact, resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable backend services using Python in AWS.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using serverless technologies to enable secure and efficient data exchange.
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to migrate legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation for system architecture, interfaces, and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in software development, preferably in financial services or enterprise platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and AWS serverless computing.
  • Experience developing Python applications and APIs.
  • Able to write queries against Relational databases as well as No-SQL databases.
  • Familiarity Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation) for cloud deployment best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with metadata-driven development and contract-first API design.
  • Knowledge of capital markets or listing operations.
  • Experience working in CI/CD pipeline automated development environments and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in other programming languages such as C#, Java

This position can be located in Atlanta, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
