Job Description

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer creates, modifies, and implements test plans, scripts, and reports, ensuring quality for the AEGIS system. This role involves coordinating software releases, maintaining test cases, tracking defects, and improving testing processes. The engineer sets up test environments, deploys releases, performs regression testing, and provides support to customers and internal teams, ensuring adherence to SQA and CMMI standards.
Must have:
  • Coordinates application software releases, test plans and overall project strategy with the department, management and internal/external customers.
  • Maintains and updates test cases for each release over all enhancements based on requirements, documentation, and defects.
  • Monitor and track defects through bug tracking software, maintains defect listing and coordinates plans for action with development team.
  • Identifies and improves software testing process.
  • Sets up system test environments using production data restores.
  • Deploys software releases to central systems and terminal applications.
  • Ability to create and maintain reports within the Systems department.
  • Performs regression testing of new releases for all central system components and AEGIS terminal applications.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of SOD, EOD and drawing activities.
  • Create and maintain balancing procedures.
  • Ability to work cohesively with the customer during testing to communicate, update, and troubleshoot while in the environment to ensure testing is completed in accordance with the approved specifications.
  • Proactively communicates status updates, responds to customer inquiries, and troubleshooting via email, chat, phone, or support ticket systems.
  • Provides support to the Lottery and SG employees for Scratch and Lotto ticket gaming functions.
  • Collaborates with systems and operations departments for testing and operation support.

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer creates, modifies and implements test plans, scripts, summary reports and status reports. This position reviews proposed requirement changes, additions as relates to the AEGIS system. A Software Quality Assurance Engineer understands and follows standards and best practices for SQA and CMMI.

Job Duties / Key Accountabilities

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

Required:

  • On call 24/7
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or 4 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in product promotions, hardware and systems software.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, SQL and Windows Active Directory.
  • Must have strong computer skills and proficiency in computer hardware and operating systems.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
