Job Description
The Software Test Engineer 1 will be responsible for playing assigned games to completion, documenting bugs and inaccuracies, executing test cases, rating games, and contributing to testing documentation. They will analyze test results, prepare test passes and cases, and serve as a point of contact for the client, prioritizing testing requirements. The role also involves assisting in test environment setup, coaching junior staff, and documenting manuals. Experience with QA methodologies, tools, and software testing standards is essential, as is experience with JIRA, TestRail, Confluence, or equivalent software. Problem-solving skills and a passion for video games are key requirements.

Software Test Engineer 1
SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER 1
What You Will Do:
- Play assigned game(s) to completion
- Document glitches, bugs, and inaccuracies in specified bug tracking database
- Execute pre-written test cases
- Rate and/or recommend game, game additions, or modifications
- Acquire knowledge on testing methodologies and video game market
- Analyze test results, bugs, and usability and contribute to existing testing content documentation
- Prepare Test Passes, Test Cases based on client specifications, and prepare reports
- Serve as a area owner contributing to test team
- Assist in test environment setup and teardown
- Assist in coaching junior staff by helping them to make decisions and solve problems
- Serve as the main point of contact for the client and will work with the client to prioritize testing requirements
- Be responsible for informally leading a test team on a variety of projects
- Document the basic user level manual, systems manual
- Provide feedback on progress and professional growth to team members as well as management
To Be Successful You Will Have:
- Ability to prioritize in a complex and fast-paced environment
- Passion for video games
- Good interpersonal skills, creativity, efficiency, attention to detail, and good work organization
- Strong academic or practical knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, software testing standards, strategies, and the software development cycle
- Adept with writing detailed concise bug reports
- Proven experience executing test cases; drafting and managing test cases for one or more features
- Experience with industry standard test software such as JIRA, TestRail, Confluence, or equivalents
- Experience running build files with software suites such as Visual Studio
- Minimum 1-2 years of games quality assurance
- Practiced and analytical problem-solving approach
