Aerospike is seeking a technically sharp, customer-focused Solutions Engineer to drive adoption of its real-time data platform. This high-impact pre-sales role involves partnering with the sales team to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling value for customers. Based in the UK, the Solutions Engineer will act as a technical expert and strategic advisor throughout the sales process, from discovery to demo and deployment, helping customers realize the power of Aerospike.
Must have:
  • Prepare and develop technical presentations to explain products or services to customers.
  • Discuss equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Research, develop, and identify modifying products to meet customers' technical requirements.
  • Solicit and log client feedback to create new sales and marketing strategies.
  • Identify areas for improvement and communicate issues and solutions to management and product managers.
  • Set and achieve sales goals and quotas.
  • Train other sales team members on technical aspects of company products and services.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills directed toward C-Level and Developers.
  • Linux experience.
  • Experience with NoSQL, Relational, Distributed, and MPP Databases.
  • Self-starter: able to assess, prioritize, and complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, HBase, HDFS, Hive, Impala.
  • Independent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understand the complexities of mission-critical applications.
  • Provide feedback on field requirements to product management and engineering.
  • Enable customers and partners through Meetups, training sessions, and Hack-a-Thons.
  • Knowledge of Graph, Timeseries, and Feature Stores.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one language: Java, C/C++, Python, or Go.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Aerospike, Yugabyte, Cockroach, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, Couchbase databases.
  • Cloud experience: AWS, Microsoft, Google.
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience.
  • Compute knowledge: Networking, CPUs, SSDs, Memory.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Previous experience working for a small to medium business.

Job Summary

In this high-impact role, you’ll partner closely with our sales team to win business by translating complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling value for our customers.

Based in the UK, you’ll serve as the technical expert and strategic advisor throughout the sales process — from discovery to demo to deployment. Whether it’s architecting a high-scale solution, answering in-depth questions, or running a proof of concept, your expertise will be key to helping customers realize the power of Aerospike.

This is a pre-sales position.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and developing technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers.
  • Discussing equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Researching, developing, and identifying modifying products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
  • Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management, including product managers.
  • Setting and achieving sales goals and quotas.
  • Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services.

Prerequisites

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer-facing skills directed toward C-Level and Developers
  • Linux experience is a must
  • Databases; NoSQL, Relational, Distributed, MPP
