Job Summary
The Specialist 4, Learning Tech Consultant at Western Digital will consult with business stakeholders to deliver outcomes related to Learning and Performance technology platforms. This role involves providing governance, testing updates from SaaS vendors, partnering with IT for scalable solutions, and supporting HR with employee lifecycle programs. The consultant will also contribute to the People Development & Engagement Center of Excellence strategy by building relationships, identifying needs, and improving learning content.
Must Have
- Consult on system functionality and capabilities associated with Learning and Performance platforms.
- Provide governance and guidance to Business Unit Administrators.
- Review and test regular updates delivered by SaaS platform vendors.
- Partner with IT to find innovative and scalable solutions.
- Support the HR team with the delivery of employee lifecycle programs via technology platforms.
- 8-10 years’ experience in HR or Learning function.
- Proven experience in administering and supporting unified talent technology such as an LMS, or Performance Management system / suite.
- Proven experience in implementing or supporting the delivery of releases of functionality from an enterprise SaaS Learning or Performance, human capital management (HCM) system vendor.
- Proven experience in using a consultative approach to translate business needs into engaging user-centered experiences via HCM systems or platforms.
- Proven experience in working with cross platform data integrations and feeds.
- Proven experience with delivering reports and dashboards via native platform reporting and data visualization tools from an HCM system.
- Proven experience in supporting tier 2 or 3 tickets via a ticketing platform, ability to document and submit tickets for escalation to HCM Vendors as needed.
- Proven experience in displaying technical prowess, in HCM platforms including HRIS systems.
- Proven experience in managing projects with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and measure progress and success against competing priorities.
- Proven experience in analyzing and visualizing data to demonstrate learning program effectiveness.
- Master’s and or bachelor’s degree in Organizational Learning Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Job Description
Consult and deliver outcomes for our business stakeholders on their needs associated with Learning and Performance technology platforms.
- Consult on system functionality and capabilities associated with Learning and Performance platforms and provide scalable real solutions to meet the businesses needs in a timely fashion
- Provide governance and guidance to Business Unit Administrators as part of our centralized administration team
- Review and test regular updates delivered by our SaaS platform vendors and ensure we are getting the most from our technology investments
- Partner with IT to find innovative and scalable solutions that meet our business needs and support our go forward learning and performance strategies in the systems we administer
- Support the HR team with the delivery of employee lifecycle programs via or technology platforms
Contribute to the execution of the People Development & Engagement Center of Excellence strategy
- Establish strong cross-functional relationships to continuously collect the voice of the business and voice of the learners to be incorporated into the Talent Development & Inclusion Strategy
- Build relationships with business stakeholders and HR partners to identify regional needs, co-create solutions, and integrate learning programs into the broader employee experience
- Stay informed on industry trends and identify best practices to continually improve content to make it more engaging and impactful for learners
- Identify unmet needs and contribute to the roadmap for new learning initiatives to solve for those unmet needs

Qualifications
- 8-10 years’ experience in HR or Learning function
- Proven experience in:
