Job Summary

N-iX is seeking a SQL Engineer/Data Analyst for a global stock photography provider. This role involves collaborating with business, data science, and engineering teams to understand requirements, map metadata, and build efficient DBT models for large datasets. The analyst will refine models, propose automated solutions, and serve as a technical point of contact to ensure accurate data and streamlined workflows, expanding data curation to incorporate statistical approaches and comprehensive testing.

Must Have

  • Work with BD, content, data science, and engineering teams to understand requirements and metadata.
  • Map customer requirements to existing metadata, apply data modelling for reusability and scalability.
  • Build DBT models capable of querying up to 1B rows efficiently.
  • Refine DBT models based on visual QA to ensure accurate datasets at scale.
  • Propose and implement automated solutions to streamline curation and increase scalability.
  • Serve as engineering point of contact for Business Development, managing timelines and technical implementation.
  • Assist in expanding data curation workflow for data science approaches within DBT and rigorous statistical review.
  • Strong DBT experience and familiarity with Snowflake.
  • Great communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in analytics / data engineering.
  • Perform code reviews and collaborate to create an optimized ecosystem.

Good to Have

  • Python experience (Streamlit apps, Airflow DAGs).
  • Experience delivering projects in an operational environment.
  • Interest in data science for understanding customer use cases.

Job Description

N-iX is looking for a passionate and motivated SQL Engineer/Data Analyst to join our team.

Our customer helps inspire graphic designers, creative directors, video editors, filmmakers, web developers, and other creative professionals by providing diverse content to businesses, marketing agencies and media organizations around the world. Content creators contribute their work to our client, where end users buy and use it in a diverse array of creative personal and business projects. It's a two-sided marketplace that empowers the world's storytellers.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the business development (BD) team, content experts, data science and engineering teams to understand customer requirements and available metadata.
  • Map customer requirements to our existing metadata and apply data modelling practices to maximize reusability and scalability
  • Build DBT models that are capable of querying up to 1B rows efficiently
  • Refine DBT models based on visual QA to ensure accurate datasets at scale
  • Propose and implement automated solutions that streamline the curation process and increase scalability.
  • Serve as the engineering point of contact partnering with Business Development to ensure accurate timelines, clear requirements and manage all technical implementation pieces of the workflow
  • Assist the expansion of the data curation workflow to accommodate data science approaches within DBT, streamline the review process to ensure a more rigorous statistical approach with more comprehensive testing

Requirements:

  • Strong DBT experience and familiarity with Snowflake
  • Great communication skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in analytics / data engineering
