Motorola Solutions is seeking a Sr. Account Manager to join their team, focusing on public safety and enterprise security. This role involves building strong customer relationships, understanding Motorola's business model, and developing account-specific strategies. The manager will lead extended teams, allocate resources, and collaborate with internal and external partners to meet key account needs. The position requires a self-motivated problem solver with a track record of closing major sales, ideally with experience in government agencies and complex software solutions.
Must have:
  • Build strong relationships and customer knowledge by understanding the Motorola Solutions business model
  • Work with the customer using the necessary sales tools to develop a robust strategy
  • Become a trusted adviser to the customer and partners
  • Clearly articulate account specific strategies for all Motorola solutions
  • Develop and enhance strong customer relationships across multiple levels and functions
  • Orchestrate and lead the extended Motorola team to understand the account's strategy
  • Understand business imperatives, and top opportunities
  • Allocate appropriate resources and obtain full collaboration of internal product groups
  • Obtain full collaboration of external partners as necessary to meet the needs of key accounts
  • Applicant must be a self-motivated problem solver
Good to have:
  • Prior experience in selling or designing complex software and communications solutions
  • An understanding of the proposal process with proposal assembly experience
  • A technical background to include Public Safety Solutions such as VMS/Video, Land Mobile Radio, CAD/911
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Information Assurance and or Cyber Security
  • Solid working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Google Productivity Suite
  • Federal Civilian or Law Enforcement Agencies experience

Job Details

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Build strong relationships and customer knowledge by understanding the Motorola Solutions business model
  • Work with the customer using the necessary sales tools to develop a robust strategy in order to become a trusted adviser to the customer and partners
  • Candidate will learn, develop, and be capable of clearly articulating account specific strategies for all Motorola solutions
  • Develop and enhance strong customer relationships across multiple levels and functions
  • Orchestrate and lead the extended Motorola team to understand the account's strategy, business imperatives, and top opportunities
  • Allocate appropriate resources, and obtain full collaboration of internal product groups and external partners as necessary to meet the needs of key accounts

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Seeking 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or technical roles selling into or working for government agencies-- Federal Civilian or Law Enforcement Agencies experience preferred
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a necessary security clearance as required
  • Prior experience in selling or designing complex software and communications solutions is highly desired
  • Excellent communication, sales, and writing skills are required
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of closing major sales
  • An understanding of the proposal process with proposal assembly experience preferred
  • A technical background to include Public Safety Solutions such a VMS/Video, Land Mobile Radio, CAD/911 is strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Information Assurance and or Cyber Security a plus
  • Applicant must be a self-motivated problem solver
  • Solid working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Google Productivity Suite is strongly desired
  • Development and execution of sales and go-to-market strategies in a highly collaborative environment is imperative
  • Must be self-reliant and able to work effectively from a remote office
  • The position is preferred to be in the mid-Atlantic region and will require approximately 30-50% local travel.
