Job Description

The Sr. Director role is responsible for leading a sizable team that supports the Instrument Creation and Dissemination Value chain, managing multiple business-critical and complex products. This role requires creative problem-solving, effective communication, and leadership to achieve the team's critical mission. Responsibilities include communicating technical requirements, analyzing complex information, leading decision-making, managing resources, providing team vision, and enhancing application usability based on market understanding.
Must have:
  • Communicate complex technical requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in analysis, integration and prioritization of complex/dynamic information.
  • Lead decision making process with stakeholders regarding deviations from agreed scope, schedule and cost.
  • Manage the supply of resources vs. demand of workload.
  • Provide a clear and objective vision for team to act on and ensures the team is performing at the needed level.
  • Exercise staff oversight to ensure organizational processes and policies are well understood and successfully executed.
  • Provide effective team management, leadership and mentoring.
  • Utilize understanding of CME Groups customers, competitors and industry issues to enhance the usability and quality of the application(s).

Job Details

The Sr. Director role is responsible for leading a sizable team that supports the Instrument Creation and Dissemination Value chain which is a set of business critical and complex products. Incumbent will manage multiple functions. S/he must be able to solve problem creatively, communicate effectively, and possess the ability to lead others to achieve the critical mission of the team.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Communicate complex technical requirements to internal and external stakeholders, including updating senior management of system performance and problems.
  • Engage in analysis, integration and prioritization of complex/dynamic information that is needed to make decisions.
  • Lead decision making process with stakeholders regarding deviations from agreed scope, schedule and cost.
  • Manage the supply of resources vs. demand of workload. Implement processes to ensure workload demand estimates are accurate. Utilize resources effectively across projects to maximize their outputs. Identify variances between budget and forecast to resolve variances via scope/schedule management and alerts senior management as appropriate.
  • Provide a clear and objective vision for team to act on and ensures the team is performing at the needed level to successfully execute the departments goals. Exercise staff oversight to ensure organizational processes and policies are well understood and successfully executed.
  • Provide effective team management, leadership and mentoring. Demonstrate efforts to ensure an engaged, collaborative, and cohesive team.
  • Utilize understanding of CME Groups customers, competitors and industry issues to enhance the usability and quality of the application(s) the team is responsible for developing.
