The Staff QA Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for applications within the broader Integration team, supporting internally defined products. This role requires gaining domain expertise on Globex and Post trade for End to End Testing. The incumbent will independently plan and execute tests, ensuring quality and compliance with SDLC. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. The role demands hands-on automation skills using open-source frameworks like Robot, working with development teams and customers with minimal oversight.
Must have:
  • Identify test scope, estimations, and scenarios for projects
  • Lead End to End Integration testing for CME initiatives
  • Perform hands-on deployment, setup, and troubleshooting of multiple applications/environments (on-premise and GCP)
  • Utilize hands-on experience with Automation Frameworks like Robot to write new automation scenarios
  • Provide domain-level expertise on application under test and testing practices (Market Data, Products, SBE Order Entry gateways, trading platforms, test data management)
  • Understand complex Globex deployments and assist in creating scripts to automate deployment checkouts
  • Collaborate with multiple PODs/Value Chains and provide status updates to stakeholders
  • Execute responsibilities with minimal oversight and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end testing for trading, referential, and post-trade applications
  • Strong understanding of messaging protocol(s) used within the CME Trading Platform
  • Ability to understand and hands-on troubleshoot a large number of applications and integration points
  • Ability to execute both test automation and manual testing
  • Proficiency in BRIO and Robot Framework automation, including writing keywords
  • Strong problem determination skills
  • Understanding of and hands-on experience creating Splunk queries, GCP logging, Observability
  • Proficient in SQL, Linux/UNIX and understanding of GCP Kubernetes deployments
  • Hands-on experience with Java/Python
  • Minimum 6 years of progressively more demanding work experience
Good to have:
  • Financial industry experience

Job Details

The Staff QA Analyst serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for applications within the broader Integration team, functioning as a Shared Service and supporting internally defined products. The Staff QA should gain domain expertise on Globex and Post trade for End to End Testing. The incumbent should possess strong communication skills and collaborate effectively with Business Analysts, Software Engineers, various Value Chains, and across Product teams. They will independently plan and execute tests, delivering quality projects while ensuring compliance with the SDLC. This role requires hands-on automation skills using open-source frameworks like Robot. The individual will work with development teams and collaborate with internal and external customers to achieve objectives with minimal oversight.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for identifying test scope, estimations, and scenarios for projects. This includes identifying project risks and implementing process changes and efficiencies to ensure high-quality testing.
  • Effectively Lead End to End Integration testing for CME initiatives across multiple Value Chains and products
  • Perform hands-on deployment, setup, and troubleshooting of multiple applications/environments (both on-premise and GCP), ensuring their readiness for project testing and automation. This also includes automating environment maintenance and startup processes.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities and come up with ways for improving automation technologies/processes.
  • Utilize hands-on experience with Automation Frameworks like Robot to write new automation scenarios. Provide innovative suggestions for automation improvements.
  • Research and provide recommendations and requirements for automation frameworks.
  • Provide domain-level expertise on both the application under test and testing practices, specifically in Market Data, Products, SBE Order Entry gateways, trading platforms, and test data management.
  • Understand complex Globex deployments (e.g., Order Entry, Matching, Market Data) and assist in creating scripts to automate deployment checkouts.
  • Collaborate with multiple PODs/Value Chains and provide status updates to stakeholders. Represent the Integration team in stakeholder meetings.
  • Work with and guide/mentor team members in Belfast and other timezones.
  • Execute responsibilities with minimal oversight and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Create and maintain test artifacts, environment architecture/flow diagrams
  • independently communicate and represent the Integration team with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end testing for trading, referential, and post-trade applications.
  • Strong understanding of messaging protocol(s) used within the CME Trading Platform to perform end-to-end integration testing.
  • Ability to understand and hands-on troubleshoot a large number of applications and integration points, both on-premise and in GCP.
  • Ability to execute both test automation and manual testing. Possess the ability to think innovatively and implement novel automation solutions.
  • Ability to execute end-to-end projects with minimal supervision while ensuring adherence to COG processes.
  • Proficiency in BRIO and Robot Framework automation, including the ability to write keywords for end-to-end application testing.
  • Strong problem determination skills that facilitate problem resolution. Capable of leading and guiding other team members in testing, environment maintenance, and automation.
  • Understanding of and hands-on experience creating Splunk queries, GCP logging, Observability.
  • Proficient in SQL, Linux/UNIX and understanding of GCP Kubernetes deployments
  • Hands-on experience with Java/Python.
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
  • Experience: 6 years minimum of progressively more demanding work experience that relates to the senior position. Candidates must demonstrate a successful testing career progression. Financial industry experience is a plus.
