This role involves managing the Central Engineering QA team, focusing on test automation framework development, solutions testing, and hybrid cloud deployments. The Senior Manager will collaborate with various engineering teams to define test strategies, contribute to continuous integration, and ensure timely, quality-focused test execution. The position requires strong technical expertise in virtualization, networking, and cloud platforms, along with leadership skills to cultivate a high-performing team.
Must have:
  • Manage Central Engineering QA team for test automation, solutions testing, and hybrid cloud deployments.
  • Develop solution testing strategy with focus on automation, enterprise use cases, and end-to-end solutions.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, architecture, sales, support, and product management on test strategies.
  • Contribute to vision and strategy for continuous integration, improved processes, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure timely test case execution with a customer quality focus.
  • Recognize process and product gaps early and drive changes for better outcomes.
  • Understand product architecture and implications on testing.
  • Manage resources effectively to deliver commitments on schedule.
  • Cultivate a high performing team and constantly raise the bar.
  • Attract, groom, and retain top talent.
Good to have:
  • 15+ years hands-on quality, development, or automation experience in virtualization and networking.
  • Experience in L2/L3 protocols, Network management, and scripting (Python/TCL/PERL).
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Robot, PyTest) and knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Chef.
  • Demonstrated experience testing highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems (software upgrade, distributed control, redundancy).
  • Technical knowledge of current virtualization software, tools, protocols, and standards (vCenter, VMware ESXi, NSX-T, Nutanix).
  • Experience building and managing vCenter Server and ESXi hosts (VMware 6.x and 7.x).
  • Working knowledge of Public/Private Clouds (Amazon EC2, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift).
  • Deep understanding of full product life cycle, software development methods (Agile, Waterfall), and development/test/build environments.
  • Ability to undertake loosely defined goals or complex problems to create order and drive to closure.
  • Ability to organize, delegate, and effectively deliver to large and complex programs.
  • Ability to drive multi-geo projects by working effectively with remote teams.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor/coach/teach/facilitate and lead change.
  • BS in CS or EE, MS strongly preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Central Engineering QA team responsible for leading test automation framework and tool development, solutions testing and managing internal hybrid cloud deployments
  • Work with team for solution testing strategy with focus on automation, enterprise use case cases and end-to-end solutions
  • Closely collaborate with peer development and QA teams, architecture, sales, customer support and product line management and jointly develop test strategies
  • As a key member of the Engineering management staff, contribute to the vision and strategy of continuous integration, improved development/QA processes, quality and productivity of test functions
  • Ensuring timely test case execution with a customer quality focus
  • Recognize process and product gaps early and able to drive changes to achieve better outcomes
  • Understand product architecture, and their implications on feature, system and solution testing
  • Managing resources effectively to deliver commitments on schedule
  • Cultivate a high performing team and constantly raising the bar
  • Ability to attract, groom and retain top talent

Requirement:

  • 15+ years of hands on quality, development and/or automation experience in virtualization and networking space
  • Experience in L2/L3 protocols, Network management and scripting knowledge (Python/TCL/PERL).
