Intel is seeking a highly motivated Senior Principal Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to ensure the quality and functionality of cutting-edge CPU products for laptops, desktops, and gaming systems. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive validation plans, designing and debugging tests in post-silicon environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing and resolving CPU/SOC and system-level issues, and driving automation and process efficiency. The engineer will lead debug task forces and ensure seamless product integration and delivery.
Must have:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans for CPU/SOC functionality, power, and thermal management.
  • Design, implement, and debug validation tests and methodologies in post-silicon environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, firmware, software, manufacturing) to resolve issues.
  • Analyze and debug CPU/SOC and system-level issues using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Lead debug task forces to root-cause and resolve issues impacting program milestones.
  • Drive automation, coverage improvement, and process efficiency in validation execution.
  • Ensure seamless integration and delivery of products to market.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12+ years of related experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in post-silicon validation, pre-silicon verification, or design (CPU, SOC, chipset).
  • Deep expertise in SOC and CPU architecture, microarchitecture, and power management flows.
  • 8+ years of experience with silicon validation tools, lab equipment, and debugging techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.

This role places you at the forefront of innovation, validating complex CPU/SOC architectures and driving excellence in product reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans for CPU/SOC functionality, power, and thermal management across multiple silicon platforms.
  • Design, implement, and debug validation tests and methodologies in post-silicon environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—design, firmware, software, and manufacturing—to identify and resolve issues.
  • Analyze and debug CPU/SOC and system-level issues using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Lead debug task forces to root-cause and resolve issues impacting program milestones.
  • Drive automation, coverage improvement, and process efficiency in validation execution.
  • Ensure seamless integration and delivery of products to market by working closely with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 12+ years of related experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in post-silicon validation, pre-silicon verification, or design, particularly in CPU, SOC, or chipset
  • Deep expertise in SOC and CPU architecture, microarchitecture, and power management flows
  • 8+ years of experience with silicon validation tools, lab equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes), and debugging techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience mentoring and developing junior engineers as a technical team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with power and performance testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Intel architecture, silicon bring-up, and validation flows.
  • Proven ability to lead task forces resolving customer issues in silicon products.
  • Experience driving end-to-end post-silicon validation of SoC products.
  • 8+ years of experience in scripting and programming (Python, C/C++, Perl) for validation tools and frameworks
  • Understanding of firmware and software interaction with hardware.

$236,010.00-$333,190.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
