Job Summary

Broadcom is seeking a Staff DFT Engineer with expertise in Design-for-Test (DFT) and related domains. The role involves working with JTAG standards, Scan and BIST architectures, memory repair, ATPG, and EDA tools like Tessent and PrimeTime. Responsibilities include verification, gate-level simulation, post-silicon validation, and debugging with ATE patterns. Strong communication and automation skills using Tcl, Perl, and shell scripting are essential for this full-time position in San Jose, California.

Must Have

  • Expertise in DFT, test, and silicon engineering
  • Hands-on experience with JTAG standards (1149.1, 1149.6, 1687) and boundary scan
  • Expertise with Scan and BIST architectures and memory repair
  • Hands-on experience with ATPG and EDA tools (Tessent, PrimeTime)
  • Verification skills: Logic Equivalence checking, validating STA constraints
  • Experience with Gate level simulation and debug
  • Post-silicon validation and debug experience; ATE patterns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong automation and scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, shell scripting)
  • Bachelor's with 8+ years or Master's with 6+ years relevant industry experience

Job Description

We are looking for a staff DFT engineer with expertise in DFT and associated domains and skills in the following areas.

  • Knowledge of latest state-of-the-art trends in DFT, test and silicon engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with JTAG standards (1149.1 and 1149.6, 1687) and boundary scan
  • Expertise with Scan architecture and BIST architectures and memory repair
  • Hands-on experience with ATPG and EDA tools like Tessent tool suite, PrimeTime
  • Verification skills include, Logic Equivalence checking and validating the STA constraints
  • Experience working with Gate level simulation, and debug with industry simulators.
  • Post-silicon validation and debug experience; Ability to work with ATE patterns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaboration with other teams
  • Strong automation skills and scripting skills using - Tcl, Perl, shell scripting
  • Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering required with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant industry experience or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant industry experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $141,300 - $226,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
