Job Summary
SirenOpt is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to significantly contribute to the electrical design and validation of cold atmospheric plasma-based metrology systems. This role involves interfacing with cross-functional teams, developing new concepts, and collaborating with clients to refine designs for advanced coatings, thin films, and nano-scale materials. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong technical curiosity, capable of solving diverse challenges in a fast-paced, innovative environment, and making a real impact on next-generation technologies.
Must Have
- Heavily contribute to electrical design and validation of cold atmospheric plasma-based metrology systems.
- Interface with cross-functional teams for research, development, and validation of new metrology concepts.
- Collaborate with clients to iterate on designs, focusing on integration speed.
- Create and maintain technical design documentation (requirements, wiring diagrams, schematics, test reports).
- B.S./M.S./PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of electrical design experience.
- Vast experience with High Voltage PCB designs (above 5kv) from electron optic or electron beam companies.
- Experience with Full PCB design cycle (concept, schematics, layout, manufacturing, bring-up, testing, SW/HW integration).
- Experience with mixed-signal PCB designs including analog, digital, and high voltage components.
- Experience with DfX processes (SRD, CDR, DDR).
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Good to Have
- Experience with regulatory compliance (CE, UL).
- Prior exposure to high-precision, high-throughput industrial designs for material handling, metrology, or process automation.
- Experience with metrology equipment and sensors for advanced materials.
- Experience in developing and optimizing prototypes and embedded PCBs.
- FPGA design with VHDL/Verilog for signal/image processing in real-time data acquisition.

In this role you will:
- Heavily contributes to the electrical design and validation of the cold atmospheric plasma-based metrology system.
- Interface with a small, cross-functional project team to research, develop, and validate new concepts for low-temperature plasma-based metrology.
- Closely interact with both small and large clients to iterate on the design based on their feedback, paying close attention to integration speed
- Create and maintain technical design documentation (e.g., requirements, wiring diagrams, schematics, and test reports)
You have:
- B.S./M.S./PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of electrical design experience.
- Vast experience with High Voltage PCB designs (above 5kv) from electron optic or electron beam companies.
- Experience with Full PCB design cycle, from concept, through schematics, layout Manufacturing, bring-up, testing and SW /HW integration.
- Experience with mix-signal PCB designs that include analog, digital and high voltage components.
- Experience with DfX processes, SRD, CDR, DDR, etc.
- Experience working in multidiscipline environment, collaborating closely with Project, system, SW, Mechanic and Algo engineers.
- Demonstrated the ability to adapt to new technical challenges and exciting to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with regulatory compliance (CE, UL, etc.)

- Experience with metrology equipment and sensors, particularly those used for metrology of advanced materials

Base Pay Range
$160,000 - $180,000 USD
