SAFE Security is looking for a Staff Engineer to lead technical architecture and system scaling, guiding engineers in building products that prevent cyber breaches. The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, designing secure multi-tenant microservices, and hands-on coding with deep-dive code reviews. Responsibilities include architecting cloud solutions using AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, and RDS, debugging complex architectural challenges, and collaborating with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams. The Staff Engineer will own the roadmap, drive execution, and champion new engineering practices, contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
Must have:
- 8+ years as Staff/Senior Engineer
- Strong backend in Node.js, Python, Go
- Experience with APIs in TypeScript
- Deep database expertise (SQL & NoSQL)
- Proven success building on AWS/GCP/Azure
- Containerization (Kubernetes or Docker)
- Built and scaled platforms for real-world load
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Experience with tough architecture challenges
Good to have:
- Node.js with Express
- Experience with React, Angular, Vue
- Familiarity with DevOps and IaC
- CloudFormation experience

🚀 The Role: Staff Engineer
We’re looking for a Staff Engineer who lives for solving the hard stuff. You’ll be the technical force multiplier—leading architecture, scaling systems, and guiding engineers to build products that help predict and prevent cyber breaches before they happen.

🧩 What You’ll Do:
- Be the Tech Leader: Mentor engineers, champion clean code, and drive a culture of technical excellence.
- Architect at Scale: Design secure, high-performance multi-tenant microservices that can handle serious load—without breaking a sweat.
- Code Like a Pro: Conduct deep-dive code reviews and stay hands-on when it matters most.
- Master the Cloud: Architect smart solutions using AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, RDS—you name it).
- Solve Complex Problems: Debug, diagnose, and dismantle architectural challenges with finesse.
- Collaborate & Influence: Work closely with Product, Design, and GTM teams to align tech with business.
- Drive Delivery: Own the roadmap, lead execution, and ensure on-time, high-quality releases.
- Innovate Constantly: Introduce and champion new tools, patterns, and practices that elevate our engineering game.
💡 What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience as a Staff/Senior Engineer or equivalent.
- Strong backend chops in Node.js, Python, Go, or similar.
- Hands-on experience building APIs in TypeScript (Express is a plus).
- Bonus points if you’ve played with modern frontends (React, Angular, Vue).
- Deep database expertise (SQL & NoSQL), with performance tuning skills.
- Proven success building on the cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Containerization know-how—Kubernetes or Docker is your playground.
- You’ve built and scaled platforms that handle real-world load.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- You love tackling tough architecture challenges head-on.
- Familiarity with DevOps and IaC (CloudFormation is a plus).
