As a Staff Experience Designer, you will shape how PayPal’s risk and data teams leverage artificial intelligence by designing next-generation, self-serve tools and dashboards within the AI/ML-powered Risk Intelligence Platform. This role involves translating complex machine-learning capabilities into intuitive experiences for detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud in real time, empowering both technical and non-technical users. You will lead the design of these tools, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and simplify technical workflows to improve data discoverability and operational efficiency.

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on complex systems or enterprise tools.
  • Expertise in systems thinking, workflow design, and simplifying complex processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, content, research, and data science.
  • Portfolio demonstrating excellence in end-to-end design, from strategy and prototyping to high-quality execution.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence both technical and executive audiences.

You’ll turn complex machine-learning capabilities into clear, intuitive experiences that empower both technical and non-technical users to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud in real time. This role requires deep systems thinking and a talent for translating complex workflows into seamless, data-rich interfaces that accelerate delivery, strengthen defenses, and build trust across the global ecosystem.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $152,500 to $262,350

For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.
