Lorikeet is seeking a Strategic Finance professional to manage the company's financial systems, models, and insights. This role involves working closely with founders, operations, and go-to-market teams to generate clear financial signals, own forecasts, manage headcount planning, track performance, and identify areas for improvement. As the first dedicated finance hire, you will have the opportunity to shape financial processes. Responsibilities include owning financial models, operating plans, scenario planning, partnering on budgets, tracking revenue and cost drivers, building dashboards, supporting pricing and forecasting, communicating with investors, and bringing financial rigor to cross-functional decisions. The ideal candidate is a strategic advisor and hands-on operator who thrives in ambiguity and can influence decision-making.
Must have:
  • 5-7 years experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or bizops
  • Experience in early-stage operating roles

  • Modeled SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, burn ratios)

About Lorikeet

Lorikeet is the most powerful customer support AI for complex businesses like fintechs, healthtechs, marketplaces and delivery services.

We’re doing this by building ground up from the premise that most support responses should be automated with transparent, customizable AI, and that support teams should spend their time managing automation and engaging with complex cases, not grinding through high volumes of simple tickets. Once teams are freed from reactive support, we want to help them tackle what’s next: providing personalized concierge services to their customers.

To deliver this combination of powerful AI systems and well designed tooling we’re leveraging Jamie’s experience as an early member of Google’s generative AI team and Steve’s experience building for operational teams at Stripe, as well as the experience of our team who’ve joined us from places like Stripe, Canva, Atlassian, Dropbox and Dovetail.

We are growing fast, have paying customers, real revenue, an exciting roadmap and a strong sales pipeline. We’re well funded by leading VCs and angel investors, including Blackbird, Square Peg, Claire Hughes Johnson (ex Stripe COO), Cristina Cordova (Linear COO), Bob Van Winden (Stripe Head of Support), and Cos Nicolaescu (Brex CTO).

About the role and you

We’re hiring a Strategic Finance swiss-army-knife to own the financial systems, models, and insights that guide our business.

You’ll work closely with our founders, operations, and go-to-market teams to turn multi-channel inputs into clean signals. That means owning forecasts, partnering on headcount planning, tracking performance against goals, and helping us understand where the business is working and where we can do better. Part strategic advisor, part hands-on operator, you’ll help refine the systems that keep us informed and aligned as we scale.

This is our first dedicated finance hire, so you’ll have a lot of room to shape how we do things.

What you’ll do

  • Own financial models, operating plans, and scenario planning for the business

  • Partner with teams on headcount planning, budgeting, and investment tradeoffs

  • Track revenue, costs, and margin drivers—and highlight what’s changing

  • Build and maintain internal dashboards and reporting systems

  • Support pricing, forecasting, and board/investor communications

  • Work cross-functionally to bring financial rigor to product, GTM, and operational decisions

  • Spot areas where we’re flying blind and bring structure to them

The right candidate

We need someone with strong financial instincts who thrives in ambiguity and can influence decision-making cross-functionally. As the first dedicated finance hire, you’ll have the agency to take initiative on the mechanisms that ensure our growth and success, thoughtfully adapting those mechanisms as business needs change.

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have 5-7 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, bizops, or early-stage operating roles, with a track record of partnering closely with leadership to drive financial clarity and decision-making, or a CFA.

  • Have built and maintained operating models used for real-world planning ideally in a SaaS or B2B start up environment

  • Have owned or directly contributed to board reporting, headcount planning, or annual planning cycles

  • Have demonstrated experience modeling ARR, CAC, burn ratios and other SaaS metrics that actually matter

  • Have experience designing internal reporting, dashboards, or planning rituals that stuck

  • Have worked cross-functionally to pressure-test investments, run scenario analyses, or improve unit economics

  • Are excited by the chance to help build a category-defining AI company
