Job Description

SimCorp is seeking a Student Software Engineer to join one of its Portfolio Analysis teams in Copenhagen. This part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week, involves contributing to continuous improvements of tools and processes, understanding requirements, discussing solutions, and implementing/testing chosen solutions, primarily in C#. The role supports financial institutions by simplifying investments, accounting, and operations.
Must have:
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Finance or related field (MSc or last year of BSc)
  • Good English skills
  • Take part in continuous improvements of tools and processes on team and individual level
  • Understand requirements, discuss solutions, implement, and test the chosen solutions
Good to have:
  • Experience with C#/.NET framework or any other OOP language is welcome but not mandatory
  • Learning new skills and improving upon existing ones working with others in the team
  • Continually looking for ways to improve what we do and how we do it
  • Openness and are not afraid to speak up or challenge the status quo

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

At Simcorp, we support some of the biggest financial institutions in the world to be successful by simplifying their investments, accounting, and operations. Portfolio Analysis is a product area within Simcorp’s Product Division which delivers functionality that enables clients to make investment decisions with our Front Office applications.

Portfolio Analysis consists of seven teams (of 5-8 software engineers) across several geographical locations, and we are now looking for a Student Software Engineer to join one of these teams. This is a part-time job with an expected average time of 20 hours per week with flexible working hours during exam periods.

We take pride in contributing to the growth of SimCorp with high quality work, but we also have a very pleasant way of working together where supporting each other is a big part of our relationship. Employees can meet up in SimCorp’s own very popular Friday bar and students throughout the house also meet up on a regular basis in their own community.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

In your daily work you will - together with your team:

  • Take part in continuous improvements of tools and processes on team and individual level.
  • Understand requirements, discuss solutions, implement, and test the chose solutions

Most of the development is done in C#. While we have a broad range of tasks and experiments, a lot of focus is on APIs as well as on optimizing our test suite.
