Job Description

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring internal suppliers to ensure purchased components meet all quality requirements. This role involves leading supplier development, managing complex quality issues, and driving continuous improvement across the supplier base to support business and customer goals.
Must Have:
  • Main contact between Internal Supplier base and Aptiv EDS plants.
  • Ensure suppliers compliance with customer specific requirements (OEM, CQI audits, etc.).
  • Conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with IATF 16949 and other automotive standards.
  • Lead supplier audits and high-impact quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supplier scorecards revision and development.
  • Take ownership of resolving high-severity supplier quality issues.
  • Support in APQP activities for new programs / launches.
  • Track quality key KPIs such as: PPM, audit results, number of complaints.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for complex supplier quality issues.
  • On site verification of countermeasures, run and rates, for specific and selected programs and components.
  • Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and track its implementation.
  • Drive root cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Support the Incoming inspection team in assessing supplier quality performance.
  • Perform Supplier Manufacturing Capability Assessments as appropriate.
  • Bachelor's degree terminated.
  • English level advanced.
  • Experience in Quality (minimum 3-5 years).
  • 8D Troubleshooting.
  • 3L5W Troubleshooting.
  • Global EOS warranty procedure.
  • AIAG & VDA Core tools.
  • Internal auditor IATF 16949 :2016.
  • IATF 16949 :2016 Internal / Second Party Cualification.
  • MS Office.
  • Experience working with vehicle assembly plants, including knowledge of the processes and functions of vehicle electrical components.
  • Analysis and problem solving.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, etc.).
  • Proven track record of leading complex supplier development projects and audits.

YOUR ROLE

  • As Supplier Quality Engineer on our team: The Internal SQE is responsible for the Internal Supplier monitoring to ensure that purchased components and materials meet all quality requirements. SQE Sr leads supplier development initiatives, manage complex / escalated quality issues, and drive continuous improvement through the supplier base to support business and customer’s goals / expectations.

In your daily job you will:

  • Main contact between Internal Supplier base and Aptiv EDS plants.
  • Ensure suppliers compliance with customer specific requirements (OEM, CQI audits, etc.).
  • Conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with IATF 16949 and other automotive standards.
  • Leads supplier audits and high-impact quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supplier scorecards revision and development.
  • Takes ownership of resolving high-severity supplier quality issues. Often responsible for developing strategic quality plans for key / top suppliers.
  • Support in APQP activities to ensure robust quality planning for new programs / launches.
  • Track quality key KPIs such as: PPM, audit results, number of complaints.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for complex supplier quality issues.
  • On site verification of countermeasures, run and rates, for specific and selected programs and components: On site Audits for verification of correct implementation of Corrective Actions, Run @ Rates capability compliance.
  • These activities to be Performed only on Specific and Selected Programs based on Quality Risks and Product Complexity.
  • Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and track its implementation. Drives root cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa) May train junior engineers or coordinate small teams.
  • Support the Incoming inspection team in assessing supplier quality performance.
  • Perform Supplier Manufacturing Capability Assessments as appropriate: for New locations / Complex Parts / Critical Launch / Critical Product-Process: On Site Capability Validations for New Locations, Complex Parts, Any Critical Launch and Critical Product-Process. Strict follow up to Supplier Quality Plans and Improvement Actions based on criteria above.
