Job Summary
The Applications and Database team supports and enhances IT-supported applications, driving process and business intelligence maturity. The Systems Accountant will be responsible for business analysis and project management, understanding both technical and functional aspects of applications. This role involves financial data modeling and reporting, supporting the Australian Unifi Program's transition to Oracle, Basware, Diapason, and Planning Analytics solutions, and identifying process improvements.
Must Have
- Part-Qualified Accountant (CPA or CA)
- Undergraduate Degree or relevant industry qualifications
- IBM Planning Analytics Certification
- Expert Knowledge of FP&A Applications
- Expert Knowledge of API applications
- Expert Knowledge of BI Applications
- Expert Knowledge of ORACLE Financials
- Advanced SQL skills
- MS Office including VBA developer skills
- 10+ years experience in a Finance Systems role
- Proven history of implementing scalable ERP systems
- Change Management Experience
- Agile Methodology experience
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Systems Accountant, you are accountable for:
- Financial Data Modelling – Planning Analytics
- Financial Data Reporting – Data Collection
- Support Australian Unifi Program on the transition of Australian Businesses to the Applications solution – ORACLE, Basware, Diapason, Planning Analytics
- Support with application strategy rollout
- Process Reviews - Identify and deliver process improvements within the organization focusing on standardisation and automation of key processes ensuring quality of service to internal customers is still maintained.
- System Access Reviews – to manage and coordinate half yearly Unifi user system access reviews by the CPO
- Reporting Improvements – In conjunction with the UniFi design authority - identify, document and validate new Financial reporting requirements
- Financial Applications Implementation support – Basware, Planning Analytics, Blackline, Diapason
- Provide Data Extraction capability for Compliance and Service Performance measurements
- Advise businesses regarding reporting structures and methodologies to ensure integrity of background integration accounting is maintained
- Oversee monthly close process addressing any integration issues to ensure system is ready for users to transact
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Part-Qualified Accountant (CPA or CA)
- Undergraduate Degree or relevant industry qualifications
- IBM Planning Analytics Certification
- Expert Knowledge of the following IS Applications: FP&A Applications – IBM Planning Analytics, Anaplan, API applications – Python, Mendi, BI Applications – Power BI, Cognos Analytic, ORACLE Financials, Advanced SQL skills, MS Office including VBA developer skills
- Exposure to wider non-Finance business systems including HR, Payroll, Procurement and Project Management applications
- 10 years + experience in a Finance Systems role within the Finance function preferably in a large complex project based organisation
- Proven history of implementing scalable ERP systems including Business Intelligence reporting tools
- Change Management Experience
- Agile Methodology experience
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
