INTERNSHIP - Evaluation of VCA solutions in sensitive environments F/H
Thales
Job Summary
This internship focuses on implementing a Video Content Analysis (VCA) system for sensitive sites. The system aims to monitor people density, detect complex behaviors (loitering, intrusion, abandoned objects, abnormal movements), and count flows using dedicated sensors. The intern will compare various market VCA solutions, installing, configuring, and testing them to select the most suitable one based on project requirements. This involves performance analysis, compliance reporting, and verifying API integration with the Digital Security Platform (SDP).

- Understand project and VCA solution needs.
- Install and configure VCA solutions on test platform.
- Run performance tests on representative datasets and automate them.
- Analyze and compare test results against performance targets.
- Provide a report comparing performance and compliance rates.
- Verify API integration with the Digital Security Platform (SDP).
- Verify compatibility with project use cases.
- Transfer acquired knowledge (documentation + training).
Good to Have
- Familiarity with Linux RedHat and/or Windows Server
- Video streams (RTSP / H264 in multicast mode)
- Curl
- Video Management System
- Web technologies
- Ansible
Perks & Benefits

- An inclusive and benevolent environment
- Recognized societal and environmental commitment (Thales Solidarity, CAC 40 ESG index, etc.)
Your daily life
Join us on the Vélizy campus, which hosts a wide variety of Thales activities: aero, defense, civil, etc. West of Paris, this site offers a work environment equipped with the latest technological innovations and provides services to reconcile professional and personal life.
This internship is part of a project to implement a video content analysis (VCA) system across several sensitive sites. This system aims to monitor people density, detect complex behaviors (loitering, intrusion, abandoned objects, abnormal movements), and count flows using dedicated sensors. The information is analyzed and transmitted to the Digital Security Platform (SDP) to enable increased responsiveness.
Within a team of security and IT experts conducting a laboratory testing campaign in Vélizy, the objective of the internship is to compare different VCA solutions on the market to select the most suitable one for the needs identified in the project's specifications.
You will work in collaboration with integrators and technical experts to implement these solutions for our clients.
In this capacity, your missions will be to:
- Familiarize yourself with the project and more specifically with the needs in terms of VCA solutions.
- Install and configure candidate VCA solutions on the test platform with the support of the IT and network team.
- Launch performance tests on representative datasets (corpus of video clips extracted from the site) and develop scripts and tools to automate these tests.
- Analyze test results and compare them against target performance requirements.
- Provide a report showing performance comparisons and compliance rates for each solution to identify the solution that meets our needs.
- Verify the integration API of each solution with the Digital Security Platform (SDP).
- Verify compatibility with project use cases, in collaboration with the team's integrators.
- Transfer acquired knowledge (document + team training session).

Are you in your final year of engineering school or equivalent training, specializing in data and artificial intelligence, and looking for a 6-month internship?
Do you have a strong foundation in IT and AI, particularly in image analysis and learning algorithms, as well as in software development and systems integration?
Familiarity with certain technical environments would be a plus: Linux RedHat and/or Windows Server, video streams (RTSP / H264 in multicast mode), Curl, Video Management System, web technologies or Ansible.
Curious, autonomous and proactive, do you enjoy working in a team and know how to analyze and synthesize technical needs or results?
A word from the team
You will join a multinational, digital, and dynamic team, driven by a strong appetite for innovation and the exploration of new technologies.
