Job Summary
This position is for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager in Oceania, based in Brisbane. The role involves leading and optimizing operations across the Brisbane Distribution Centre, focusing on Purchasing & Supply Chain, Logistics, and Safety. The manager will also provide operational support to branches in Australia and New Zealand, reporting to the Operations Director APAC. It requires active involvement in day-to-day operations, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong emphasis on safety culture and compliance.
Must Have
- Lead purchasing, supply chain, logistics, and safety activities for the Brisbane DC.
- Manage supplier relationships, purchasing performance, stock levels, lead times, and transport costs.
- Ensure strong operational support and service delivery to branches across Oceania.
- Actively identify, implement, and embed continuous improvement initiatives.
- Embed a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Pricing Teams.
- Strong supplier management and customer service capabilities.
- Experience sourcing products from international suppliers.
- Solid understanding of global Incoterms and their application.
- Demonstrated experience managing purchasing operations, including inventory control, delivery performance, and logistics costs.
- Strong understanding of warehousing, logistics, and supply chain operations.
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiency through practical, hands-on problem solving.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar hands-on operations, purchasing, or supply chain leadership role.
- Practical, down-to-earth leadership style with a strong desire to understand the detail.
- Willingness to be on the floor, in the warehouse, and involved in the day-to-day realities of the operation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
- A respected leader who leads by example and builds trust through action.

This position offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, hands-on operations leader with a strong track record in operational excellence to join our Oceania team.
About the role
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and optimising operations across our Distribution Centre, with a strong focus on Purchasing & Supply Chain, Logistics, and Safety. You will also provide operational support to our branch network across Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the Operations Director APAC, this is a highly hands-on role. You will be actively involved in day-to-day operations, with suppliers and alongside your teams to truly understand how the business operates and where improvements can be made. This role suits someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, and lead from the front.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading purchasing, supply chain, logistics, and safety activities for the DC
- Being visibly present in the operation, understanding processes end-to-end and supporting teams on the ground
- Managing supplier relationships, purchasing performance, stock levels, lead times, and transport costs
- Ensuring strong operational support and service delivery to branches across Oceania
- Actively identifying, implementing, and embedding continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, logistics, and purchasing
- Embedding a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders across Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain, Finance and Pricing Teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong supplier management and customer service capabilities
- Experience sourcing products from international suppliers
- A solid understanding of global Incoterms and their application across international purchasing, freight, and customs processes
- Demonstrated experience managing purchasing operations, including inventory control, delivery performance, and logistics costs
- A strong understanding of warehousing, logistics, and supply chain operations
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiency through practical, hands-on problem solving
