Job Summary
The Global Data Steward Supplier is the primary contact for supplier data, ensuring its accuracy and reliability. This role involves establishing and enforcing data standards, resolving data conflicts, and monitoring data quality. The steward collaborates with IT and business stakeholders, provides mentorship, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier data domain to meet business requirements and enhance efficiency.
Must Have
- Serve as primary point of contact for supplier data inquiries

- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Information/Data Management, Business Admin, Computer Science
- 2-5 years experience in data management, quality, or governance
- Familiarity with data governance principles, quality concepts, and best practices
- Understanding of data structures, relationships, and database concepts

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Domain Data Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related inquiries within the supplier data domain, ensuring data is consistently accurate, reliable, and complete. Lead in the understanding and effective use of supplier data across teams and projects.
- Standards Enforcement: Establish, document and ensure adherence to data standards, policies, and guidelines in cooperation with the data and process owners to meet changing business or system requirements within the supplier data domain. Promote consistent data handling, processing, and usage across all relevant systems and teams.
- Data Issue Resolution: Assure data integrity, proactively identify, investigate, and resolve data conflicts, discrepancies, and quality issues within and across your domain.
- Data Quality Monitoring & Improvement: Accountable for setup, tracking and analyzing data quality metrics within the supplier data domain. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices to elevate data accuracy and consistency and improve efficiency and effectiveness over time.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely and effectively with the different data teams, IT and business stakeholders to ensure the value of data is recognized and meets business requirements. Facilitate communication, gather feedback, and align data practices across departments and projects.
- Mentorship & Guidance: Pro-actively provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues, assisting them with daily tasks, issues and promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications
- Masters degree (or equivalent by experience) in a relevant field such as Information Management, Data Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 2-5 years of experience working with data, preferably in a data management, data quality, or data governance role.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality concepts, and data management best practices.
- Understanding of data structures, data relationships, and database concepts.
- Experience working in a medium to large global organization with data management tools and technologies (e.g., data quality platforms, data catalogs, data profiling tools) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of relevant governmental policies and regulations.

- Basic Data Manipulation Skills: Familiarity with Tableau, basic SQL, Python or data manipulation tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) for data investigation and analysis.
