Job Summary
Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer Intern, Space, in Costa Mesa, CA. This role involves assisting the Principal Systems Engineer in monitoring and executing an Orbital Systems team, leveraging existing and new technologies for customer missions. The intern will work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and deliver hardware and software solutions, gaining experience in complex integrated systems for on-orbit operations, design reviews, assembly, testing, and spacecraft operations.
Must Have
- Assist the Principal Systems Engineer in building out new products to satisfy customer requirements in new and challenging mission areas
- Develop insights into multiple spacecraft subsystems including bus and payloads
- Contribute technical inputs to engineering execution plans
- Develop tools to be used in oversight to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers through all phases of program execution up to and including delivery and operation of capabilities on-orbit
- Assist in process development for mission and system level trade studies and analysis to balance risk, cost, and performance

ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Systems Engineer Intern, Space to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will assist the program’s Principal Systems Engineer with monitoring and execution of an Orbital Systems team that effectively leverages current Anduril technologies and newly developed technologies to serve the customer mission areas. The Systems Engineer Intern, working with a multi-disciplinary engineering team, will assist in the efficient development and delivery of hardware and software solutions for Anduril’s customers.
Through the mentorship of the Principal System’s Engineer, the Systems Engineer Intern will gain experience with complex, integrated systems for on-orbit operations and demonstrations, to include sub-contracted teammates and strategic partnerships. The Systems Engineer Intern will be expected to gain competency and refine foundational systems engineering tools used in effective technical development and integration of spaceflight systems – a process which spans company boundaries in an agile development approach. They will need to balance development of new capabilities with the incorporation of several pre-existing Anduril capabilities, and need to effectively communicate development status to internal stakeholders.
The Systems Engineer Intern will gain insight and experience in all aspects of program execution from design reviews, assembly, integrated testing, and on-orbit operations of spacecraft. The Systems Engineer Intern in conjunction with the Principal Systems Engineer will assist in building out the necessary systems engineering tools for Anduril to execute on all necessary aspects of satellite and payload design, integration, and test.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assist the Principal Systems Engineer in building out new products to satisfy customer requirements in new and challenging mission areas

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical communication skills, providing the ability to deliver critical technical briefings and conclusions to technical leadership
- Strong technical fundamentals in an engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
