Teamlead (m/f/d) Accounting

Responsibilities

• You have the technical and disciplinary responsibility for the Accounting team (9 employees), which works at two locations (Bochum/Leipzig).
• You report to the Head of Accounting - Germany (m/f/d). At the same time, you are an integral part of the local and supra-regional Finance team.
• You are responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to US GAAP and are responsible for the preparation of individual financial statements according to HGB in cooperation with local auditors.
• You take care of the timely submission of VAT pre-registrations and the determination of income taxes in cooperation with our tax advisor.
• You are motivated to improve existing processes and continuously develop the team.
• You are responsible for the general ledger and the sub-ledgers of the individual company (Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets).
• You ensure compliance with the internal control system (SOX/IKS).
• You proactively drive internal process improvements within the company and the Finance team.

Requirements

• Completed degree in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on Accounting or Finance, or alternatively: further training as an accountant.
• Several years of professional experience in Accounting.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience.
• Proficient in HGB and initial contact with IFRS or US GAAP.
• Proficient in MS Office and common ERP systems.
• Hands-on mentality.
• Strong communication skills and a structured way of working.
• Team player and persuasive.
• You identify with continuous development and are motivated to shape exciting projects in the financial sector.
• German and English language skills in word and writing (B2).
