The Engineering team works on various digital properties, aiming to launch new products and improve existing ones to diversify revenue and enhance user experience. This hybrid Tech Lead/Engineering Manager role involves hands-on technical contributions, leading high-impact projects, and mentoring junior engineers, all while aligning efforts with business goals and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Fortune Media is seeking a highly motivated and talented Tech Lead/Engineering Manager (Hybrid Role) to join our team. This exciting position offers a unique opportunity to combine strong hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, leading high-impact projects while simultaneously mentoring and developing a team of engineers.

As a Tech Lead/Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Maintain a strong individual contributor role: Continue to actively participate in coding, design, and implementation of key software components.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers: Guide and mentor junior team members on best practices, code quality, and professional development.
  • Conduct performance reviews: Provide constructive feedback, set performance goals, and guide career development for team members.
  • Drive technical excellence: Champion high-quality software development practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Lead large-scale projects: Take ownership of complex projects, defining technical roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams to successful delivery.
  • Revenue-focused development: Align engineering efforts with business goals, focusing on projects that deliver measurable ROI and drive revenue growth.
  • Data-driven decision making: Leverage data and analytics to inform technical decisions, track project progress, and measure the impact of engineering initiatives.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable and maintainable software systems.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Next.js, React, Angular)
  • Experience with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java)
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and their integrations

Total Compensation Ranges (base salary & bonus):

Tech Lead/Engineering Manager hybrid role: $119,000.00 - $213,000.00 plus 10-15% of a discretionary annual Bonus
