Reporting to the Customer Service Leader, the Technical Advisor provides essential technical support for Wabtec Locomotives to customer maintenance and engineering staff.
Must have:
  • Coordinate implementation of field modifications and monitor effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer issues and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide coaching and assistance to client for troubleshooting, failure support, field modification oversight, issue feedback and engineering support.
  • Achieve Wabtec internal training certification training within 18 months.
  • Partner with the customer to develop and have a smooth transition of locomotive into operations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business to identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Interact with Wabtec teams regionally on issues, product development and training.
  • Report on performance criteria and customer monthly meeting including RX’s, trending and pareto charts.
Good to have:
  • Experience working within the Rail Industry and maintaining and troubleshooting. eg. Electrical / pneumatic or mechanical / electrical; Wabtec locomotives is preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a dynamic and face paced environment.

Who will you be working with?

Reporting to the Customer Service Leader, the purpose of the role is to provide technical support for Locomotives to our customers maintenance and engineering staff.

Where is the position located?

Western Australia: Monday to Friday role.

What will your typical day look like?

  • While this role is based in Perth, occasional travel may be required (approx. 3-4 times per year)
  • Coordinate implementation of field modifications and monitor effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer issues and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide coaching and assistance to client for troubleshooting, failure support, field modification oversight, issue feedback and engineering support.
  • Achieve internal training certification training within 18 months.
  • Partner with the customer to develop and have a smooth transition of locomotive into operations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business to identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Interact with teams regionally on issues, product development and training.
  • Report on performance criteria and customer monthly meeting including RX’s, trending and pareto charts.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Experience working within the Rail Industry and maintaining and troubleshooting. eg. Electrical / pneumatic or mechanical / electrical; locomotives is preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a dynamic and face paced environment.
  • Experience working with and demonstrated understanding of, complex machine/mechanical systems in an industrial environment
  • Trade qualification, engineering certificate or bachelor degree required.
