Electronic Arts is seeking a Technical Artist for EA SPORTS FC in Bucharest, Romania. This hybrid role involves bridging artists and engineers, working with Art Teams, Project Managers, and Software Engineering teams. Responsibilities include production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimization/integration, and shader development, with a focus on resolving technical issues. Candidates should have at least 3 years of game production experience and proficiency in Python, C#, Maya, Photoshop, and Houdini.

Must Have

  • At least 3+ years of game production experience.
  • Experience working on multiple hardware platforms.
  • Proficient scripting/programming in Python and C#.
  • Experience with 2D/3D art packages such as Maya, Photoshop, Houdini.
  • Experience with game optimization challenges, and solutions.
  • Acts as a bridge between the Artists and Engineers.
  • Works closely with Art Teams, Project Managers, and Software Engineering teams.
  • Partners with development teams to build shared and scalable solutions.
  • Assumes ownership over technical issues and brings them to resolution.
  • Comfortable working with both art and science.

Your Responsibilities

The Technical Artist (TA) acts as a bridge between the Artists and Engineers. They work closely with Art Teams, Project Managers, and Software Engineering teams.

Reporting to Technical Art Directors, they partner with development teams to build shared and scalable solutions. The main areas of responsibilities include production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimization/integration and shader development. TAs are expected to assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on their projects and bring them to resolution.

You can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science background; however, you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and science.

Your Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of game production experience.
  • Experience working on multiple hardware platforms.
  • Effective at communicating with different audiences: Artists, Engineers, Managers.
  • Proficient scripting/programming in Python and C# (C++ is a bonus, but is not required).
  • Experience with 2D/3D art packages such as Maya, Photoshop, Houdini.
  • Experience with game optimization challenges, and solutions.
  • Desire to push for quality solutions when resolving technical challenges.
