Role
We are seeking a talented Technical Lead to lead our team in creating our next casual hit. This unique opportunity involves defining and building the foundation of a new puzzle game studio from the ground up, covering technical, operational, and strategic aspects:
- Partner with the General Manager to structure, recruit, and onboard the technical team
- Define and establish the technical foundations for a new puzzle game, addressing all aspects from prototype to worldwide launch, including the creation of the switcher engine, level editor, and future live operations
- Develop and implement ways of working for the engineering craft, including technical practices, team rituals, and collaboration processes
- Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for the studio, ensuring scalability for both the team and the game, in alignment with the overall product and studio strategy
- Work with product leadership on roadmap, rollouts, and adoption strategies
- Engage in hands-on coding when needed, building new features and iterating rapidly based on player feedback and market testing
- Monitor the health of the product, guiding the technical team to continuously enhance product quality and address issues promptly
- Help the General Manager and other Leads manage the studio, contributing to its strategy, operations, and people management, always fostering a culture of innovation and creativity
With this role, you will have a strong impact on the company by contributing daily to important decisions with a multidisciplinary team of passionate and talented people working on one of the most successful Voodoo games. Profile
- 3 years of experience as a Technical Director or Technical Lead on casual games
- At least 5+ years of professional experience with Unity
- Successful track record in top-tier mobile casual games, with experience in both new and live game development
- Experience in creating, growing, and leading engineering teams
- A creative and innovative mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable switching from management work to hands-on coding as needed
- Experience with backend development or client-server interactions
- Extremely passionate about casual games and driven to create a new hit
- Entrepreneurial mindset, enthusiastic about building new things from the ground up
