As a Business Development Manager at Keywords Studios, you will be responsible for expanding art and co-development services across Japan and APAC. This role involves identifying and pursuing new client opportunities within the video game art services sector, building and maintaining client relationships, and developing strategic plans to grow business. The candidate will also conduct market research, monitor sales performance, and collaborate with internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the video game industry, particularly in art production and outsourcing, and be adept at client management and strategic planning. This role requires a proactive approach to securing new business and meeting revenue targets.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of business development experience in video games art services
  • Strong network within game development and publishing sectors.
  • Proven ability to hunt and bring in new business opportunities and clients.
  • Understanding of entertainment art production processes and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Job Details

Keywords Studios is an international creative and technology services provider for the global video games and entertainment industries. Our Create division specializes in delivering top-tier art, game development, and audio services. We collaborate with major industry players to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to expand our Art and Co-Development services across Japan and APAC. You will have a strong background in the video game industry, particularly in art production and outsourcing, and will be adept at building and maintaining relationships with clients. We’re looking for energetic individuals who are excited to make their mark on the success of our Japanese Art business.

Some of the cool stuff you'll be doing:

  • New Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new client opportunities within the video game art services sector and adjacent markets.
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and projects.
    • Secure new business deals to meet clear revenue targets.
    • Present and promote our services to potential clients, attending industry events, trade shows, and meetings.
  • Client Management:
    • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients to ensure ongoing and repeat business.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs and expectations are met.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop strategies to pursue new business and adjacent market opportunities.
    • Work with the studio leadership to devise new business approaches and models that complement our core business.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential new business opportunities.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to the Service Line Director for strategic planning.
  • Performance Tracking:
    • Monitor and report on sales performance to meet or exceed targets.
    • Work closely with leadership to monitor success metrics, and adjust strategies and tactics as necessary to achieve goals.

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the video game industry, ideally with a focus on art services
    • Strong network of contacts within the game development and publishing sectors.
    • Proven experience hunting and bringing in new business opportunities and clients
    • Bonus points if you have experience building collateral like proposals and solutions documents.
  • Skills:
    • Driven and open to creative approaches to business development.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to travel as required
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of entertainment art production processes and services.
    • Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
    • Familiarity with the competitive landscape and market trends in the video game and adjacent industries.
