Pentair is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join its Clean Air Systems national sales team. This role focuses on driving revenue growth for Pentair Goyen and Mecair brand products by working with OEMs and distribution partners. The representative will maintain existing business, identify new opportunities, understand client requirements, design solutions, and articulate product value. The position is remote, requiring 50% overnight travel across a multi-state territory for customer visits and tradeshows. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of technical sales experience and strong technical aptitude.
Must have:
  • Maximize sales revenue of established accounts and target new business opportunities with OEMs and distribution partners.
  • Develop annual strategic plans with best-in-class distributors to increase revenue and improve return on sales.
  • Partner with internal teams in the bid & proposal process and understand customer needs and expectations.
  • Work with end-users and internal teams to develop new solutions, grow market share, and penetrate new markets.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of products to address customer needs and promote brand awareness.
  • Anticipate and plan for changing market trends and develop sales tools and account plans to achieve targets.

We have an opportunity for a Technical Sales Representative to join our Clean Air Systems national sales team. Reporting to the North America Sales Manager, you will drive revenue growth of Pentair Goyen and Mecair brand Clean Air Systems products. You will work directly with key original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distribution partners within an assigned territory to maintain existing business and identify and close new opportunities, by understanding client requirements, designing solutions, and articulating the value of Pentair’s products, solutions, and technologies.

This job posting is for one territory sales position. You can live anywhere in the United States within reasonable driving distance of a major airport for this position, but ideal candidates will be near any of the posted locations. Exact territory may vary based on where you live. When you are not travelling for work, you will work from home.

You will:

  • Maximize sales revenue of established accounts, as well as target new business opportunities with OEMs and distribution partners, with clean air systems/dust collection applications through the development of key personal relationships and technical sales presentations and demonstrations.
  • Develop annual strategic plans with best-in-class distributors that increase top line revenue, augment Pentair solutions specification, and improve return on sales.
  • Partner with internal teams in the bid & proposal process and clearly understand all customer needs and expectations. This may include negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Work with end-users and internal teams to bring ideas and innovation together to develop new solutions, grow market share and penetrate new markets.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of our products across the entire professional channel / portfolio to address new and existing customer needs and promote brand awareness and preference.
  • Anticipate and plan for changing trends in the market and develop the sales tools & account plans to achieve the sales targets & goals.

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned a Bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree preferred. Technical degree preferred.
  • Have 3-5 years of relevant technical experience that will include sales experience, specifically account management, territory management, and/or new business development.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability to understand and interpret mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of or experience with dust collection or industrial filtration technology a plus.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting technical product information and/or training.
  • Team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Travel:

  • 50% overnight travel across a multi-state territory to meet with existing accounts as well as new business development activities, including customer visits and tradeshows.

Compensation:

For California and New York City residents, the anticipated total target cash (TTC) range will be from $87500 - $162400. For all other candidates, the anticipated TTC range will be from $79500 - $147600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as sales incentives.
