Job Description

Beghou Consulting, a trusted advisor to life science firms for over 30 years, offers strategic consulting services combined with proprietary technology for data-driven solutions to enhance commercial operations and boost sales performance. This Technical Support Associate role will provide technical assistance to employees in the Evanston Office and other locations. Responsibilities include tracking incidents to completion, building new PCs, and training employees on connectivity software within a Windows environment. Additionally, the role will support infrastructure maintenance and enhancements, including virtual environments, tiered storage, and backup infrastructure, with occasional flexibility in working hours.
Must have:
  • Monitor and track incidents for timely technical support.
  • Provide routine support for end-user IT issues.
  • Evaluate and prioritize incoming IT service requests.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer systems and peripherals.
  • Perform basic computer hardware and software installations.
  • Train users on connectivity software.
  • Assist with infrastructure maintenance and enhancements.
  • Monitor and maintain backup & replication jobs and file recovery.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system health.
  • Escalate unsolved issues to the appropriate internal team.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Windows administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively with others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good to have:
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certification.
  • Experience with Physical/Virtual Server environments (ESXi / VMware).
  • Experience with Storage area networks (PowerStore/PowerScale).
  • Experience with Backup/Disaster Recovery (PPDM, DataDomain or equivalent).
  • Experience with Ticketing systems (KACE 1000).
  • Experience with Windows Imaging/Scripting (K2000).
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10/Servers).
  • Experience with Office products including Office365.
  • Networking component/experience (Switches, Appliances, Firewalls).

We are dedicated to client service and offer a full suite of consulting and technology services, all rooted in advanced analytics, to enhance commercial operations and boost sales performance.

Purpose of Job

This position will provide technical support to employees in the Evanston Office and in other locations. This role is responsible for tracking all incidents to completion, building new PC’s and training employees on the use of connectivity software in a Windows environment.

Secondarily this role will also assist with infrastructure maintenance and enhancements as skills permit with our state-of- the-art technology. This includes support and maintenance of our virtual environment, tiered storage, and backup infrastructure; such as backup and replication maintenance, file recovery and enhancements. On occasion, this will require some flexibility of working hours, which are normally 8:30am to 5:30pm. 

We'll trust you to:

    • Monitors and tracks incidents to provide quality and timely technical support to our headquarter employees and satellite offices. 
    • Provides routine support for end user with IT-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming ticket requests for IT service in a professional, courteous manner.
    • Troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment. 
    • Performs basic computer hardware and software installations. 
    • Trains users on connectivity software. 
    • Assists with infrastructure maintenance and enhancements as skills permit. 
    • Monitors and maintains backup & replication jobs and file recovery as needed. 
    • Monitors and troubleshoots system health; adjusts volumes and VMs as needed. 
    • Appropriately escalates unsolved issues to the appropriate internal team
    • Provides infrastructure enhancements such as software & hardware upgrades, performance tuning, etc. 
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You'll need to have:

    • Bachelor degree in technical related field or equivalent work experience. 
    • Familiarity with Active Directory and Windows security/administration. 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Candidate must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds. 
    • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with others and adapt quickly.
