Cuscal is seeking a Test Lead for a 10-month contract to manage testing for their Workday implementation across People, Payroll, and Finance operations. This role involves developing and executing test strategies and plans, leading test execution, managing defects, and ensuring best practice test management. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping Australia's payments future within a collaborative and innovative team, focusing on professional growth and flexibility.
Must have:
  • Develop and implement a test strategy for Workday implementation and related integrations.
  • Develop and deliver test plans for all phases of testing, including schedules and resourcing.
  • Ensure test strategy and plans align with project goals, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Lead business and technology SMEs in creating test cases and scripts with robust review.
  • Lead business and technology SMEs during test execution, providing guidance and tracking progress.
  • Lead defect triage processes using JIRA, including root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Carry out ongoing assessment of testing activities, ensuring targets are met and risks resolved.
  • 3+ years experience as a test lead or manager in complex technology/systems implementations.
  • Experience operating in smaller organizations with hands-on planning and testing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional testing involving business, technical, and vendor teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment and deliver successfully.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in project teams delivering major initiatives under tight timeframes and budgets.
  • Experience with test tools such as JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies.

Job Description

As part of an exciting uplift to our corporate systems, we are embarking on an implementation of Workday across our People, Payroll, and Finance operations. As such, we are looking for a Test Lead to join the team on a 10-month maximum term contract!

The Test Lead is responsible for ensuring Cuscal’s Workday implementation includes best practice test management. That all phases of testing are completed at a high level of confidence, documented and tracked appropriately. That all test resources are properly briefed and trained and used efficiently to assist the delivery of the project.

You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Developing and implementing a test strategy for Cuscal’s Workday implementation and related integrations that aligns with Cuscal’s testing standards and practices.
  • Developing and delivering the test plans for all phases of testing (i.e. System Integration, End-to-End/Functional, User Acceptance, and Regression), including schedules and resourcing.
  • Working with the project team to ensure that the test strategy and test plans align with the project goals, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Leading the business and technology SMEs and stakeholders in the creation of appropriate test cases and test scripts, including a robust review and sign-off process.
  • Leading the business and technology SMEs and stakeholders during test execution, providing clear guidance, tracking progress, and managing expectations.
  • Leading the defect triage processes utilising JIRA, including root cause analysis, issue tracking, prioritization, assignment, and resolution.
  • Carrying out ongoing assessment of testing activities, ensuring the targets set out in the test strategy and test plans are being achieved and any risks or issues are identified and resolved.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

  • 3+ experience working as a test lead or manager and in complex technology/ systems implementations.
  • Experience operating in smaller organisations, having hands-on responsibility both for planning and testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional testing involving business, technical, and vendor teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment, with the perseverance to work through challenges and deliver successfully
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams, especially project teams delivering major initiatives under tight timeframes and budgets.
  • Experience with test tools such as JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies.

Although not required the following experience would be highly desirable:

  • Familiarity with HR, Finance, and Payroll business processes
  • Familiarity with Workday and Workday testing methodologies
