Job Description

The Transportation Supervisor oversees a team of Class A and B drivers delivering to Domino’s Pizza stores. Responsibilities include scheduling drivers, routing trucks, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company policies, and handling customer concerns. The supervisor trains new drivers, conducts safety observations, and monitors driver performance. This role requires comfort working in a diverse, fast-paced environment, supporting a 24-hour operation, and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Must have:
  • Oversee and manage a team of drivers.
  • Schedule drivers and route trucks efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Handle customer complaints effectively.
  • Train new drivers and conduct safety observations.
  • Monitor driver performance and provide coaching.
  • Prepare transportation reports and manage budget.
  • Coordinate truck maintenance and fleet image.
  • Conduct accident investigations.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • 2-3 years of route scheduling experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, TMS.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing).
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.

Job Details

Summary

The supervisor oversees a team of drivers [Class A and B] delivering to Domino’s Pizza stores. The supervisor is responsible for scheduling drivers, routing trucks, reviewing trip sheets for accuracy and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, state, local laws, and company policies and programs. Effectively and efficiently handle customer complaints and concerns. Train new drivers in job duties, safely, and complete Job Safety Observations (JSO). The supervisor must be comfortable working in a diverse, fast paced environment.

  • Salary: 75-78K + 10% TAD Bonus
  • Schedule: Sun - Wed 4pm - 2am

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Leadership

  • Recruit, interview, select, and mentor new and tenured drivers
  • Support driver engagement initiatives
  • Monitor driver's performance and hold them accountable when performance is below expectations, using coaching and/or progressive discipline as needed
  • Complete driver’s annual performance reviews
  • Review driver’s lytx and logs and coach according to company
  • Collaborate in driver onboarding and training
  • Ensure safe work environment in compliance with FMCSA, OSHA, company standards, local, state, and federal requirements
  • Effectively communicate day-to-day with drivers, departments, and vendors
  • Create positive environment, morale, and respect among team members
  • Attend and participate in classroom or virtual Leadership & Development trainings
  • Coordinate safety/team/quarterly meetings

Reporting/Budget

  • Prepare and assist with Transportation generated reports
  • Monitor budget and fuel cards to ensure funds are maximized
  • Participate in the development of budgets

Routing, Scheduling, Hours of Service, and Maintenance

  • Weekly schedule driver routes and re-routing as necessary to ensure route coverage
  • Conduct route analysis and recommend saving opportunities to Manager
  • Monitor driver hours of service via the onboard system
  • Conduct route observations to ensure Drivers are safely performing their duties as required by company and DOT standards (The number of observations per period is determined by the number of drivers at the SCC)
  • Maintain and monitor food safety standards in compliance with company and franchisee requirements
  • Perform payroll duties when necessary and review driver payroll for accuracy
  • Monitor misdeliveries, and make recommendations to the manager on avoidance strategies
  • Maintain driver qualification file
  • Schedule truck maintenance and maintain fleet image
  • Conduct accident investigations
  • Coordinate deliveries and backhaul activities
  • Assist the Transportation Manager with truck leasing meetings to ensure PMs are met to Domino’s standard and repairs are completed in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
  • As needed, if qualified, drive a company vehicle or straight truck for deliveries or to the leasing company for service/maintenance, and on occasion, work the yard
  • Willingness to support a 24-hour operation, including carrying an emergency cell phone as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, some college hours, 2-year degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of documented supervisory experience
  • 2-3 years route scheduling experience
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation, FMSCA rules and regulations
  • MS Office, SAP, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), computers, and scanner equipment/software
  • Results-oriented with strong organizational, decision making and people skills
  • Successfully pass a background check every third year on your anniversary date
  • Commercial Driver’s License Class A, a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, climb stairs, and lift to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (non-airconditioned warehouse), both indoors and outdoors, including refrigerated conditions [33-38]
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to loud machinery
  • Must be able to work around yeast and flour
