Job Description

We are a leading game development studio made up of industry veterans, working on a AAA third-person action-adventure RPG set in a medieval fantasy world. As a VFX Artist, you will create and implement stunning real-time visual effects, bringing the design team’s vision to life through impactful special effects. This role involves creating particle systems, animated shaders, simulations, and optimizing assets, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Must have:
  • Create real-time VFX and particle systems
  • Create animated shaders and post-FXs
  • Create real-time and/or baked simulations
  • Implement VFX assets in the game editor
  • Optimize VFX assets and shaders
  • Collaborate with designers, programmers, and technical artists
  • At least 5 years of experience as a real-time VFX artist
  • Experience with character and gameplay related VFX asset creation
  • Understanding of Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (Maya, 3Ds Max or Blender)
  • Ability to adapt style to art direction
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Houdini and Substance
  • Experience with a AAA game

Job Description:

As a VFX Artist, you will be responsible for creating and implementing stunning real-time visual effects in the game. You will bring the design team’s vision to life through impactful special effects.

Responsibilities:

  • Create real-time VFX and particle systems
  • Create animated shaders and post-FXs
  • Create real-time and/or baked simulations
  • Implement VFX assets in the game editor
  • Optimize VFX assets and shaders according to the project’s technical guidelines
  • Collaborate with designers, programmers and technical artists

Knowledge/Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a real-time VFX artist
  • Experience with character and gameplay related VFX asset creation
  • Understanding of Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara
  • Knowledge of a 3D modeling software (Maya, 3Ds Max or Blender)
  • Knowledge of Houdini and Substance is an asset
  • Ability to adapt your style to the art direction of the project
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with a AAA game is considered an asset
