Job Summary
The Vice President, Retirement Solutions Strategic Growth, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) will play a critical role in supporting the strategy, business development, and planning efforts for BlackRock's Retirement Solutions platform. This involves identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic opportunities to expand beyond target date funds and Defined Contribution into new products, sales channels, and global markets. The role requires market research, due diligence, building commercial frameworks, and presenting business cases to leadership, while also enhancing operational efficiency through business planning and process optimization.
Must Have
- Develop a deep understanding of the RS team’s investment philosophy, process, positioning, and products.
- Conduct industry/market research to identify opportunities in existing and emerging channels, globally.
- Support end-to-end strategy development: opportunity sizing, evaluation of business structures, positioning, and execution planning.
- Perform due diligence and develop business cases to evaluate strategic initiatives and drive key prioritization and tradeoff decisions.
- Communicate strategies and plans across the firm (including senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders) via clear and compelling presentations, written memos, meetings, etc.
- Partner with product, distribution, finance, investment, and strategy colleagues to ensure alignment on new initiatives and go-to-market strategies.
- Contribute to annual and long-term business planning and operations, including resource allocation, tracking progress and success metrics for strategic initiatives, and KPI development/monitoring for broader RS.
- 4–8 years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, management consulting, finance, investment banking, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure and interpret complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate with senior audiences.
- Exceptionally organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while delivering in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate independently while also being adaptable to direction and team collaboration.
- Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Series 7 & 63 to be acquired within 6 months of hire.

- Interest in retirement markets, asset management, and lifecycle investing.
- Knowledge of target date funds, defined contribution, strategic planning, and/or financial modeling is a plus.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL, Morningstar Direct, and/or Bloomberg is desirable but not a requirement.

The Retirement Solutions (RS) team within MASS is the center of multi-asset lifecycle investing at the firm and the engine serving our global retirement business. Job Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Growth, this individual will play a critical role within the RS Strategic Growth team, supporting the strategy, business development, and planning efforts that drive the RS platform’s long-term strategic growth and evolution.
Working closely with senior leaders, this individual will help identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities that expand RS beyond target date funds and Defined Contribution into new products, sales channels, and global markets. This will entail working across the full spectrum of opportunity evaluation: from market research and due diligence to building commercial frameworks and presenting business cases to leadership. Beyond developing disruptive growth initiatives, this individual will also play a key role in strengthening the team’s operational efficiency through effective business planning and process optimization.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
