Job Description
This role involves designing, implementing, and managing VMware infrastructure, including configuring hypervisors like VxRack and VxRail, and integrating NetApp FlexPod solutions. The architect will collaborate with teams for seamless deployment, maintain documentation, ensure GMP compliance, and provide technical support. Automation of VMware/Windows environments using PowerCLI, vRO, and vRA is crucial. The role also includes advising on infrastructure initiatives, planning new releases, and participating in strategic design. Candidates need 7-12 years of experience, proficiency in automation workflows, and adherence to ITIL/Change Management and security best practices.
Must Have:
- Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain hypervisors (VxRack, VxRail).
- Integrate and manage NetApp FlexPod solutions.
- Automate VMware/Windows environments using PowerCLI, vRO, vRA.
- Lead and advise on infrastructure initiatives.
- Plan and implement hardware/software releases and updates.
- Participate in strategic planning for design, performance, and capacity.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Evaluate and maintain hardware/software management tools.
- Develop user training and information.
- 7-12 years’ relevant experience in IT infrastructure.
- Skilled in creating and managing automation workflows.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and adhere to change control.
- Experience with ITIL/Change Management processes.
- Background in security best practices and disaster recovery.
What success looks like in this role:
- Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain hypervisors including VxRack and VxRail.
- Integrate and manage NetApp FlexPod solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of VMware environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with GMP practices in all aspects of infrastructure management.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VMware-related issues.
- Stay updated with the latest VMware technologies and industry trends.
Proficient in automating VMware / Windows environments using PowerCLI, vRealize Orchestrator (vRO), vRealize Automation (vRA)
- Leads and/or advises on site, regional and or cross-organizational network and systems-related infrastructure initiatives.
- Contributes to planning and implementing new releases, updates or corrections to hardware, software, applications or connectivity.
- Participates in strategic planning and development associated with future design, performance and capacity management.
- Effectively translates, communicates and relays technical subject matter content to non-technical audiences.
- Evaluates, recommends and maintains hardware and software management and monitoring tools to meet current and future organizational needs.
- Defines and develops comprehensive user and related training and information.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- BA/BS/NE CSE degree and 7-12 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Skilled in creating and managing automation workflows to provision virtual machines, configure networking and storage, and apply system updates.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and adhere to change control and security policies.
- Experience working in enterprise environments and with ITIL/Change Management processes.
- Background in security best practices and disaster recovery planning.
