Job Summary
The Data Center Technician is responsible for maintaining the data center's IT system, troubleshooting issues, and performing server installations to ensure uninterrupted access to network services. This role involves installing and configuring infrastructure, monitoring system performance, performing maintenance and updates, managing HVAC and power supply, ensuring data backups, assisting with disaster recovery, and documenting procedures. The technician will also provide troubleshooting and repair for Dell products at customer sites, including parts management and firmware upgrades.
Must Have

- Carry out routine network maintenance (user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam)
- Ensure consistent and reliable power supply
- Ensure data backups are completed and stored correctly
- Assist with disaster recovery operations
- Document procedures, systems, and network configuration
- Comply with and maintain security standards
- Communicate with IT staff and management
- Provide troubleshooting and repair for Dell products
- Triage issues with Dell Support direction
- Execute plans of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3
- Document POA results, logs, and service reports
- Reseat, swap, or replace parts
- Perform server testing and validation
- Upgrade firmware
- Manage parts locker and spare parts
- Return parts to Dell
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 4-6 years’ experience in area of responsibility

We are currently hiring Data Center Technicians in: Memphis, TN; Afton, TX, Carrollton, TX; Prince George, BC CAN; Cambridge, ON CAN.
We are also building a pipeline for future openings in additional U.S. data center locations.

The Data Center Technician’s responsibilities include maintaining the data center’s IT system, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations.
Familiarity with server installations and network updates is also required.
- Installing and configuring data center infrastructure including servers, racks, switches and other hardware
- Regularly monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
- Performing regular maintenance and updates to systems, software, and hardware
- Ensuring the data center’s HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems are operating efficiently
- Carrying out routine network maintenance tasks, such as managing user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam
- Ensuring the data center’s power supply is consistent and reliable
- Ensuring data backups are completed and stored correctly
- Assisting with disaster recovery operations in the event of power failures, fires, or other disasters
- Documenting procedures, systems and network configuration
- Complying with and maintaining security standards within the data center
- Communicating regularly with other IT staff and management to report on status of the data center
Engineers will provide troubleshooting, repair, parts ordering, preventative maintenance and Installation of Dell product located at Customer Site.
- Triage issues with direction from Dell Support
- Execute plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3
- Document POA Results, logs and service reports (Parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced) to Dell via case email
- Reseating parts, swap or replace parts
- Server Testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing and uploading logs)
- Upgrading Firmware as needed
- Parts locker management, manage inbound and outbound parts
- Spare parts management, separate from parts locker (during CW server deployments)
- Parts return to Dell
You will be successful in this role if you have:
High School Diploma or GED required
May require technical certification or Associate Degree
Generally, 4-6 years’ experience in area of responsibility
