This role is for a Warranty Quality Leader in Gdańsk, responsible for leading the Warranty Quality group and managing the warranty process for the Production Manufacturing Location, including budget and business plan warranty.
Must have:
  • Drive Quality in quote and Product Development Process activities
  • Lead the Warranty Quality group and the warranty process for the PML
  • Drive warranty in customer first, leading the warranty analysis in cooperation with Aptiv functions
  • Continuously improve Warranty Quality Engineer standard work
  • Drive customer approval for warranty
  • Monitor and review status of all warranty programs
  • Identify warranty trends and apply corrective actions
  • Responsible for the Budget Business Plan warranty
  • Drive Warranty Forecast vs. actuals in Aptiv database
  • Define Risk & Opportunities for warranty
  • Drive warranty initiatives for “technical factor” and “supplier costs recovery”
  • Build relationship to the equivalent customer leadership level vs. Aptiv´s Quality Organization
  • Perform warranty Audits based on VDA field failure analysis and/or CSRs
  • Assure CQEs are properly trained and ready to support warranty return process

Requirements:

  • Dipl-Ing, bachelor or MS in Engineering or similar Technical Degree required (preferred: automatics, robotics, programming)
  • minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering, Quality or Operations, preferred in automotive industry, electronics manufacturing environment, technologies, automation
  • understanding of product design - able to challenge engineering or supplier’s technical analysis
  • trainings in VDA FFA and Customer Specific Requirements, knowledge of Six Sigma or other problem solving methods will be an asset
  • good knowledge of lean concepts and electronics manufacturing processes
  • strong communication skills in English (German will be an asset)

Your role:

You will be responsible for leading the Warranty Quality group in Gdańsk PML (Production Manufacturing Location) and the warranty process for the PML (with responsibility for the Budget Business Plan warranty)

Detailed Scope of Duties:

  • drive Quality in quote and Product Development Process activities (works closely with the Customer&Aptiv specialists to assure proper quality requirements included in quotations and to verify that proper language for warranty terms and conditions are included in all quotations, engage in successful launch of new programs, support design team for systematic root cause analysis with Core Quality tools)
  • Warranty Quality Engineering (works closely with Plant Quality Managers, driving warranty in customer first, leading the warranty analysis in cooperation with Aptiv functions, continuously improve Warranty Quality Engineer standard work, drive customer approval for warranty, monitor - including KPI - and review status of all warranty programs in standard warranty and Early Detect and Early Correct, identifies warranty trends and applies corrective actions, responsible for the Budget Business Plan warranty and drive Warranty Forecast vs. actuals in Aptiv database, define Risk & Opportunities for warranty, drive warranty initiatives for “technical factor” and “supplier costs recovery”, interaction to Quality Business Intelligence group, defined communication formats include SWAT, SQDI´s, Quality Alerts, Drill Wide, 3L5W´s, build relationship to the equivalent customer leadership level vs. Aptiv´s Quality Organization, perform warranty Audits based on VDA field failure analysis and/or CSRs in the their PML and other EU PMLs)
  • Customer Quality Engineering – interaction to Customer Quality Engineers (CQEs), f.e. assures CQEs are properly trained and ready to support warranty return process / are providing rapid response team feedback to the APTIV manufacturing sites, input for continuously improving Customer Quality Engineer standard work)
  • Other quality supporting tasks.
