This internship at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts focuses on Analytical & Strategic Planning within the Facilities & Operations Services team. Interns will contribute to engineering magic by crafting, building, servicing, and maintaining high service levels. Responsibilities include performing work measurement studies, analyzing data for insights, collaborating on solution execution, becoming proficient in data analytics and visualization, and supporting quality efforts through data collection and reporting.
Must have:
  • Perform time and motion studies in Textiles operation to develop labor standards for accurate evaluation of labor performance.
  • Analyze data looking for trends, commonalities and other statistical characteristics to identify improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Turn ideas into solutions by collaborating with different contributors to acquire consensus prior to implementation.
  • Become guide in Textiles data collecting, analysis and visualization, with the ability to present results to different audiences for clear and concise messaging.
  • Support Quality related efforts by setting up data collection studies including sample sizes, data collection forms and reporting.

What You Will Do

As a member of the Facilities & Operations Services team, you will help to engineer the magic. You will join a team that works every single day to craft, build, service and maintain a level of service that exceeds our client and guest expectations! Your team's responsibilities may include:

  • Work Measurement - perform time and motion studies in Textiles operation to develop labor standards for accurate evaluation of labor performance.
  • Insights - analyze data looking for trends, commonalities and other statistical characteristics to identify improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Execution – turn ideas into solutions by collaborating with different contributors to acquire consensus prior to implementation.
  • Analytics – become guide in Textiles data collecting, analysis and visualization, with the ability to present results to different audiences for clear and concise messaging.
  • Quality - support Quality related efforts by setting up data collection studies including sample sizes, data collection forms and reporting.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in Excel, Access and PowerPoint (required)
  • Experience with data visualization software (Tableau or Grafana)
  • Experience with statistical analysis through SQL
  • Knowledge of work measurement techniques and method
  • Knowledge of Quality analysis methods like Fishbone diagrams, RCCA, 5Why’s

Preferred Qualifications

Successful completion of the College Program or Professional Internship

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4-year college or university majoring in an Engineering related major including: Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, Systems or related major
  • Junior, Senior or Graduate student status by arrival date

Preferred Education

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: Please, no rounding) as shown on a transcript.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a College Program or Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Current Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

Additional Information

  • Be compliant with appearance guidelines
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday with occasional weekends or holidays pending project need, up to 40 hours each week, early mornings or late nights are a possibility, bulk of work time will be during traditional 8am-5pm
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role is $30 for undergraduate student per hour and $35 for graduate student per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
