Job Description

Axel Springer is a leading digital publisher and global media company. The WELT News app is a top digital news product with 700,000 monthly users, consistently ranking high in its category. The international team is seeking a motivated, technically oriented QA Working Student to support quality assurance activities. This role involves contributing to QA development, executing UI tests, identifying and tracking bugs, assisting with app releases, and collaborating with design and development teams to deliver the best app experience.
Must Have:
  • Contribute to the development and execution of QA activities in our international team
  • Support analysis, planning, and maintenance of automated UI tests with TestSigma and BrowserStack
  • Identify and track bugs, collaborating with design and development teams using JIRA and Charles Proxy
  • Assist the Product Owner in app releases via Google Play Console and App Store Connect
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure the product meets design specifications
  • Develop, review, and maintain clear and structured test documentation
  • Communicate with and support the product development team in a Kanban environment
  • Identify opportunities to improve the user experience of our apps
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (ideally studying information technology, computer science or a similar subject) and show strong analytical abilities
  • Experience identifying and tracking bugs in mobile applications
  • Familiar with QA methodologies and tools such as JIRA
  • Knowledge of HTTP debugging tools like Charles Proxy
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

How you'll make an impact:

What you'll need:

  • you have experience identifying and tracking bugs in mobile applications
  • you are familiar with QA methodologies and tools such as JIRA
  • you bring knowledge of HTTP debugging tools like Charles Proxy
  • you are eager to learn and work with the latest QA technologies
  • you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • you are fluent in English, both spoken and written
