Senior VFX Artist

As a Lead Level Designer, you will lead a team of level designers, manage their tasks, and review their work to create outstanding VR levels. You will collaborate with the leadership team to create a plan for designing, implementing, and validating levels. Your role also involves coordinating efforts across disciplines to build levels that showcase core mechanics and storytelling. You will also identify and implement process improvements to enhance the team's creative expression and productivity.  You will be working on exciting VR titles and contribute to immersive entertainment. The responsibilities include managing the team, planning the levels, coordinating with different disciplines, and improving the processes. The role demands creativity, strong communication, and organizational skills for console/PC action-adventure games.

 We are Vertigo Games, developers and publishers of top-end VR titles like Metro Awakening, Arizona Sunshine, After the Fall and The 7th Guest. Our Amsterdam studio has started development of our next VR game, following Metro Awakening, and we are looking to recruit a Lead Level Designer who can aid us in our mission. <ul><li>Lead our team of level designers, manage their tasks, review their work and coach their development to create outstanding VR levels.</li><li>Collaborate with the leadership team in creating a high-level plan to design, implement and validate the levels.</li><li>Coordinate the effort of the level design team across disciplines to build levels that showcase the core mechanics and storytelling/world building.</li><li>Identify and implement process improvements that enhance team creative expression and productivity.</li></ul>

 <ul><li>Experience in managing a (level) design team for console / PC action-adventure games typically gained over 3+ years.</li><li>Highly experienced in creating levels throughout the full development cycle for console/pc action-adventure games.</li><li>A creative eye for spatial design, player interaction and environmental storytelling.</li><li>Sufficient 3D modelling skills for blocking out environments.</li><li>An in depth understanding of the Unreal Engine level creation pipeline.</li><li>Highly organized/forward looking and skilled in communicating design information across disciplines.</li><li>Fluent in English.</li></ul>
