We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and drive financial excellence. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, overseeing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment while managing a distributed team.
Must have:
  • Lead monthly close activities, ensuring timely completion.
  • Oversee core accounting functions including cash management, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, intangible assets, accrued liabilities, VAT/sales tax, lease accounting, revenue recognition, and forecasting.
  • Manage the monthly financial statement consolidation process.
  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Review journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Oversee internal controls documentation, testing, and segregation of duties.
  • Support tax preparation activities by compiling and organizing required financial information.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in GAAP principles and application.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling).
  • Experience with financial consolidation software and ERP systems.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and drive financial excellence. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, overseeing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment while managing a distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Lead monthly close activities, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established close calendar and company standards.
  • Oversee core accounting functions including cash management, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, intangible assets, accrued liabilities, VAT/sales tax, lease accounting, revenue recognition, and forecasting.
  • Manage the monthly financial statement consolidation process, including eliminations, adjusting entries, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Review journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering professional development and performance excellence.
  • Create and maintain efficient team structures while providing coaching, guidance, and constructive performance feedback.
  • Lead and motivate a remote team while building a collaborative, results-driven culture.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures in alignment with GAAP requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring timely completion.
  • Oversee internal controls documentation, testing, and segregation of duties to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support tax preparation activities by compiling and organizing required financial information.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes.

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Public accounting experience highly preferred.
  • Proven success managing month-end close and financial reporting in a multi-entity environment.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in GAAP principles and application.
  • * Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling); proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with financial consolidation software and ERP systems.
