Job Description

Nasdaq’s Global Operations Strategic Programs team is building next-generation solutions that harness the power of AI and automation to transform financial technology. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing Generative AI applications, participating in code reviews, collaborating on technical requirements, and supporting data collection for AI models. The engineer will also capture user feedback, contribute to documentation, solve complex problems, and work effectively within a geographically dispersed team, engaging in all aspects of software engineering from architecture to application development.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, and implement components of Generative AI applications.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and champion best practices in software engineering.
  • Collaborate with teammates on technical requirements and help deliver innovative solutions.
  • Support the collection, preprocessing, and curation of datasets used to train generative AI models.
  • Capture user feedback and contribute to design iterations that improve usability and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to system documentation, technical discussions, and solution design.
  • Solve complex problems under the guidance of senior engineers and share learnings with the team.
  • Work effectively within a geographically dispersed team, ensuring smooth collaboration.
  • Review system requirements, code, test, debug, and maintain software solutions across complex assignments.
  • Engage in all aspects of software engineering, from architecture and infrastructure to data and application development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and its ecosystem.
  • Solid experience with AWS and cloud-native technologies.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform).
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio Code and modern development environments.
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Familiarity with both Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Lean development methodologies.
  • Understanding of Generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications.
  • Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and unstructured data handling.
  • Experience with REST API development/integration (including Remedy/BMC Helix, SharePoint REST, AWS API Gateway, or similar systems).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We design, implement, and optimize automation and AI-driven applications that enhance user experience, improve workflows, and create measurable business impact.

We are now looking for an AI/Automation Software Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This is a great opportunity to work on advanced AI initiatives, contribute to innovative projects, and grow your expertise in a fast-moving global environment.

Business Unit

Nasdaq’s Global Technology (GT) team delivers solutions that power over 115 market infrastructure organizations and participants worldwide, including broker-dealers, exchanges, clearinghouses, central securities depositories, and regulators across 50+ countries. Our mission-critical technologies help manage risk, enhance market integrity, and safeguard reputations.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and implement components of Generative AI applications, with a focus on performance, reliability, and code quality.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and champion best practices in software engineering.
  • Collaborate with teammates on technical requirements and help deliver innovative solutions.
  • Support the collection, preprocessing, and curation of datasets used to train generative AI models.
  • Capture user feedback and contribute to design iterations that improve usability and satisfaction.

Monthly base salary 4900 - 5500 EUR gross. The final offer will be based on your experience and skills.

This is a full-time permanent position located in Vilnius. Nasdaq offers a hybrid workplace to find a balance between working from home and collaborating in the office, therefore it's required to come into the office at least 3 days per week.
